Recently had a ticket cancelled as per HerB4 but note at the bottom it said

"N.B. The officer may issue a replacement notice at their discretion"

    Not complaining but very odd.

    Hey,

Thanks for your comments everyone. Interesting to see that it does actually happen (I had never heard of it before!! ).

Just to clarify a couple of points:

    1. It wasn't me (but it easily could have been)
    2. The letter basically said that that the "infringement notice has been cancelled and no further action would be taken" .... no more - no less.
    3. No - the cop was not flashed that I am aware of...

I like the way you are thinking, but what position will The Dover hold?

    You are to even ask....
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

You're kidding. My last $570 ticket the cop spelled my address wrong even though I clearly read each individual letter to him. Don't tell me I could've fought it lawyer styles?

No, you would be wasting your time for THAT sort of mistake.

    Iwi Liason Officer?

Just to throw another meaningless story into the pot (it's what I've gotta do, okay?)

I was stopped immediately after the akl harbour bridge in july last year for alledgedly travelling at 124km/h in an 80 zone, so the nice man took my license from me for 28 days - the first thing he said as he got out of his car was "you've just lost your license" He then proceeded to have a rant about how he had taken the licenses of 9 motorcyclists in his last 5 shifts, guess he was proud. Never mind that at the top of the bridge, where he alleged I was doing 124km/h, I was stuck behind two tin-tops doing 80-something... temp loss of license and a $530 fine.

Anyway, I pleaded not guilty, as you do, and a week before the court date the prosecuting officer tells me that it needs to be pushed back 3 months. 3 months later I turn up to court and can't find my name on any of the lists, ask the court receptionist and she told me the police had withdrawn the case 3 months earlier! WTF?

So, seeing as I and my witness (my RGV250-mounted cousin) had the morning off on a beautiful day, we went for a ride, as you do
