Well, I'm doing it right, but only because my cage is worth so little.

Would like to buy a newer car, but think getting authorisation for spending the same amount on a bike would be very, very hard!

The shaggin-wagon is worth the most (4 years old) - handy rural vehicle too.

The M109R a close second in value (9 months old) - the beast and my toy.

The sedan third in value (7 years old) - had it since new and not worth selling as it is in excellent condition.

My car is worth more for two reasons, both circumstancial:

    a) I use to get my son to school, so HAS to be trustworthy
    b) I bought her before I bought my bike

But...both are utterly sexy and very much loved by their owner, however, I got to admit I get more purring out of riding my bike. Admitedly, not much more...my beemer is a pleasure driven machine and I've wanted her since I was 15.

Bike is worth about five times the car in real terms, in emotional terms the difference is greater. Bike probably gets cleaned five times more than the car too.

CBR was brought brand new, DRZ was brought a year old and the van was less than a year old. The van was still worth twice as much as the CBR, and the DRZ just failed to compare in monitry value. However when it came to enjoyment to use, the bikes won every time. The van was good at transporting bikes/sleeping also. Now I have the airtrek, its still worth more than the CBR, but as far as depreciation would go, the CBR would have dropped in value after being ridden out of the showroom and then after its age increased. Its probably only the very lucky that get the chance to upgrade their motorcycle every year, or to get the most expensive available. I am just happy to have brought one brand new sportsbike and I think it would have taken me a very long time to ever want to upgrade it. However if I had more money than a bull can XXXX, I'd quite possibly be buying plenty of toys. Maybe I should buy a lotto ticket this weekend?

However the inline wagon has its worth as the KBer support vehicle. Its another great way for Coaster and I to meet all the rest of you.

$$$ seems like a reasonable guess.

Are you meaning which is more important to you? Given this is a bike forum itd be a realtively one sided question.

bike is about 10k worth, car about 6k, and thats the way it sould be, and you cant put a value on the pleasure the bike gives

Bike is worth three times that of the car, and much more fun. Still need car to do grocery shopping etc and cart 85 yr old mother out etc. (cant see her on the back of a cruiser)

guilty as charged, my cage is worth 3X the value of the bike. But I do 90% of commuting on the bike... might flog off the car next year.
