Would "clear up" the odd bullshit claim you see here - you can't "go off the revs" as they are often far from accurate also.
Don't think anyone has to worry about the cops reading this - if they knew much about bikes they wouldn't believe the tall stories either.

Indicated 175km/hr on an RG150 at ruapuna. Probably closer to 150 in reality

Haven't really tried maxxing out my 750, save that sort of thing for a trackday I think.

    Hi

A Instrument repairer once told me that the higher the top speed on the speedo the worse the accuracy problem becomes.
One would have though the advent of electronic speedo's would cure this - but it hasn't.
Infact it seems like a marketing ploy as nearly always they read high.

I have speedracer which is a small program that you imput details like final drive ratio and internal ratios etc and it tells you road speed in km/miles at any RPM, drop between gears etc.
If anyone wants it PM me and I'll email it as I can't add it here as a attachment.

Great for checking your gauges and for working out your ideal sprocket sizes.

    Cheers

Dude, of all the things you could have bought back to the future, you chose a 1988 Suzuki?

Centrifugal force would affect tyre size too, so even inflation pressure would have an effect...

My old K3 600 was indicating 288 on stock gearing. Was timed at an average of 261 over the flying quater which wasn't too bad for a bike with 600kms on the clock.

299 indicated on a thousand cc sportsbike is a piece of piss now days. I'll let ya know in November what the "actual" fastest speed I've travelled is.

was leaving my mates TLthou for dead and after seing something a little over 200 on a quick glance down, a little bell in the back of my head went *if anything happens at this speed your F***ed... haven't seen anything even close to that speed since. The awesome/scarey thing was my baby wa still pulling hard, would love to top her out on a race track :

As long as you don't smack into anything it isn't too bad. Hitting the deck hurts and the friction burns sting like hell. I've binned it at Puke flat out in 4th, which was 120mph at the drags. Went from the braking mark to the corner on my head/arse/back/hands/knees/elbows/etc etc. First day at the track on the new bike - damn!

Cracked 130 on a pushie! (hill, carefully draughting co-ordinated car and motorbikes)

85+ on the flat with no help at all on the push-bike into the back of a parked car, folded the bike and flung myself into a hospital bed, still got the scars from that one!
I'm selling my new riding gear!! Only worn a few times get a deal Kiwibikers!!
