sorry to hear about your loss....nothing is safe any more...anyway wish ya luck with bike shopping...I rekon if I bought a bike from a shopp I would go to "Just Motorcycles" in NB...They normally have a few good 250s there...they had an eliminator last time i visited but looks like just a virago and rebel in 250 cruiser style now....happy hunting!

Yep. We'll be poppin' in there to see what's what. That's where she got the Eliminator from in the first place. I don't think they have anything suitable for her at the moment but we'll tell them what sort of bike she's after and get them to see what they can find. She's taking a ZR250 for a spin tomorrow from Norjo.

only took me and my mate to lift my softail into a back of a van.... we were careful and even then it was pretty quick - lowered the bars, front end then the back, sidestand down and i sat in the back holding it.

i never lock my bikes when i go out but i think maybe i should at the rate bikes are getting nicked but as u said unless its to an immoveable object there isnt much point

did i read in this thread that there were 3 bikes stolen that were brought from the same shop? thats pretty unlucky

I'm not sure if they were bought from the same shop ... the shop owners just heard of three nicked bikes that day.

Yeah, and I think things will only get better now that they have a full time mechanic out the back.

Hey Mrs Oakie I reckon that Yamaha SRV is nice if you want to stay with a 250 -yes I can touch the ground on it so you can too! or what about the monster dark, twins -I know I'm bias.
    Happy hunting

So the inquiry as to who has the stolen bike has run into a dead end then?

I think it's now a matter of finding out where the registered owner of that van is living ... that is assuming that he was even the culprit. On a brighter note, the car squad person I spoke to yesterday morning said they'd probably be able to get us a couple of stills from the video surveillance footage. So ..."coming to a computer screen near you ... the face of a bike thief".

You can call them scumbags all you like, worthless bloody sacks of shit that they are. There's not a KBer called scumbag... he's Scumdog. We have it on good assurance (his, mind you ) he's not a scumbag, rather, out to catch them.
