Yes....... same place, same time, but if it's pissing down you might find yourself riding alone and everyone else waiting for next week.

Awesome run, took the CBR1000F over it once or twice when I owned it, real hard work, corrugated shingle and a bit of a stream/ford to cross, very scenic but kinda shakes the fairing and creates or opens up any stress cracks that you might have, adds a half hour or so to the trip back past the the Weatchef too, but your not Adventure riders so I'll try to forget that it's there if we find ourselves in Little River.
Reckon us adventure/trail bike riders would have to come back via Western Valley Rd(awesome road) if we ever end up at Little River and its not too dark

Damn, it's not looking too good - Christchurch.

Guess we can only hope that metservice is wrong - not that it's likely to be the case >:| (/sarc)

Guess I'll take the cage in and if it clears, hurry home and get bike to be at KB at 6...

Someone tell those clouds to bugger off

If it's not raining I 'll be there at 6. I think we'll just decide where we're going at the carpark cause I really have no idea whats happening and that Lincoln route really does look like snoresville

Well, it's not looking too bright atm I must admit. Still - unless it's absolutely pissing down I expect to be at KB at 6 pm.
I hope there'll be some oldbies who'll brave the weather and show up anyway.

Right, we're going to have to cancel this ride. I can't imagine anyone really wants to go for a ride in this. I'm sorry but my "sunshine dance" obviously didn't work. I mustn't have wiggled my butt enough

If any of you are still going, have fun

Yeah the wheather is crap. I'm still kinda keen to give the powers above the one finger salute and go there anyway. Might shoot down to KB and if noone shows shuffle back home and get some spicy thai takeaway

Edit: Yep right enough - can't stop myself. Will leave in 5 mins.

Nice ride to KBs. Waited 20 mins in the rain (sort of - there was a roof ), gave up and then ordered a curry and decided to make the cruise to Ferrymead by myself.
Just as I was about to head out onto Moorhouse the other participant of todays shining cruise showed up and we had a good chat before I headed on. Good to meet you Transalper!
Now I'm back home with a full stomach and still nice and warm - the weather wasn't too bad to be honest. Hope we'll be able to improve on the number of attendees for next week though. (Average is now down to 13.5 if 25 people attended last week)

Nice to do some wet wheather riding actually - but fuck me I need another helmet, I can't have the visor down on this one without it fogging up immediately. So yeah - got a face wash tonight.... hope it's good for my pores.

I'm home now, just put the bike away and feet up.
Good to meet Mikkel. I was all dressed snug warm and water resistant, as we departed I said I might just go home since it was raining, Mikkel says why... I thought about it a bit while putting helmet and gloves back on and decided he was right.

My ride went down Colombo up Dyers Pass to the que at the road work traffic light.
Bugger it I thought, so I angled right, went over the curb through the little car park and out on to the Summit Rd, a glance in the mirror saw the cars still waiting as I rounded the bend out of sight on my way to Gebbies.
Got to Gebbies with the intention of going back via the Tunnel and decided bugger it again and turned right then left at the bottom and cruised in to Little River.
Little River, well, I couldn't stop now so off in to the slightly muddy Western Valley Rd where I started encountering various small animals on the road, both live and dead, also several groups (not enough to call a flock) of sheep and even a cow standing in the middle of the road, actually when I went round the cow I hadn't even reached the dirt bit yet.
Got off the shingle and dirt after a big grin run at about 8:05pm and followed the bays to the Tunnel then home about 9pm.

Got to say I throughly enjoyed my little adventure.
