F'ing hell, they're some hypocritical wankers on this forum. Hands up who hasn't had any speeding tickets. Now, hands up who didn't act a bit stupid when they were younger (whether or not you got caught).
Anyone with their hands up? Good. Now remember the biblical adage about sin and casting stones.
Mark - thanks for the heads up, dude. And try to keep your head up too.
I'll write that one for you:

At the 2007 Westpac Ride:
Donor: So ya glad you're a Biker?
Minnie: F**k yeah!
I saw a truck with an ad on it the other day
'THIS ISN'T AN UNDERCOVER POLICE VEHICLE.'
'but anything else could be.'
Made me think.
I only posted this because of the global economic crisis
I was followed going past a school by an undercover cop.
He flashed his lights, put on his undercover siren so I pulled over.
(I mean what else could I do, he obviously had noted my plates).
I waited for the guy, but he motioned for me to leave the bike and come over to his vehicle. He was OK though in the end, once i'd given him all the money I had on me. The Bastard!
I saw him later by the beach, just waiting for speeders and snapped the Bastard! Obviously it's one law for them and one law for us!!!

Its most likely to continue with the road you insist on travelling. If you don't like it, now might be a good time to review your life thus far. Because if you continue failing to learn from your mistakes and continue to make up weak excuses, how can it change?
Sorry Mark, but you might have lived within cotton wool/political correctness, but in the real world, there is such a thing as failure.![]()
Those who insist on perfect safety, don't have the balls to live in the real world.
I must say I don't care too much about whatever has happened with regards to Mark and the law... But it seems that most people think that he's got what was coming to him - so just be happy that "justice" is served.
However, I can not help being a bit concerned about all this police sneakiness in order to slam speeders. When the law starts putting an emphasis on shitpoor drivers, fuckwits and retards then I might be able to accept the amount of focus speeding is getting these days. My gripe is that more and more we're not allowed to think for ourselves - there are empty, straight, flat roads out in Canterbury where you could do 500 km/h without it being dangerous (might wanna check for potholes in advance though)...
E.g. I'm happy I live on the South Island - yesterday I drove from Takaka to Christchurch (480 km) in 5 hours and 20 minutes in my cage. That's an average speed of 90 km/h - and we had a couple of breaks as well. I sat solidly at 130 km/h most of the way and truth be told that was at NO time dangerous or irresposible since there was fuck all traffic and I don't do reckless overtakes. I don't think I managed to pick up more than a couple of bleeps of the Beltronics STI XR during the whole trip and I didn't see any coppers either. Good thing, because I would have been mightily pissed off about getting a ticket for that.
Let me clarify that I do not condone speeding and doing stupid stuff, showing off or any kind of wankerish behaviour! However, when the law punish you for thinking for yourself and evaluating your current situation I stop agreeing. If they start to get sneaky about it and use underhand approaches like the criminals they're supposed to be apprehending then it get's my knickers in twist!
Time to go back to the lab and work on the Ka band jammer!

Who says they are just out to slam speeders??????????? Maybe, just maybe.... they are out there to hammer "Shitpoor drivers, fuckwits and retards.."
You would think there are no other tickets issued for anything other than speed, ever.... Shit drivers get tickets all the time but they shut up and get on with it... speeders are another thing. They seem to think they are exempt somehow....
True - you are most likely correct about that... or so I shall assume. Because, yes I have rarely (not ever) heard about anyone getting pulled over and ticketed for anything but speeding, dangerous/careless and drink driving.
After all, noone would ever complain about getting ticketed for being deemed incompetent.
Oh, who am I kidding. As long as I'm to understand that the penalty for running the red lights is $250 and NO demerit points I think I'll stand by my statement that there's a emphasis on speeding compared to other traffic "violations".
So while I do believe that you may have a valid point about people whining about their speeding tickets (and I do agree that people should STFU and get on with it) - I'm still not convinced that Mr. Plod does active routine policing of most other offenses.
Speeding is convenient - you get a number out of your black box and compare it to a table and you can decouple your brain and run it on automatic. Issuing a ticket for not driving as far left as possible, not indicating for 3 seconds before turning, etc. is a much harder call and you can't sit on the road side, on a straight, empty and flat road waiting for your offender to come to you.
