I may do the same. Was going to ride down to Taupo, KB Track day, to check out some of the action and take a few pics, but being the dumb ass that I am, I lost the only key I had for the Buell, so the only bike Ive got to ride is the DR, head into AMPS in the morning hope to get a key sorted.
Why would you ride that long and that gnarly stuff if you don't have to, Its what we do, we love it.

I'll look out for you on th DR. Say hi if you see us. load of CRFs and a rm80 with hirepool trailer.

You only need two tools in life - WD-40 and Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.
And now a third thing a bloody big gun to shoot theives with!

went to thunder x yesterday. It was empty, dry and mint.

They were bulldozing the first part of A, and putting some more jumps in.

Yeah would have been around 2pm, wasn't sure if it was you either. Oh well know for next time.

They kept working on the A-track till about 5ish, and it was looking like it's going to be real good by then. And they opened the whole track.

When you see the first sign that says "home", don't take that exit!

What did you make of that staircase bit, not keen myself. Don't like the steep stuff much really anyway.

Oh and on a side note, Sam got a flat tyre, kimmys has spare tubes, $15 each (good price) and the guy even went and got us tyre leavers,a tank to fill the tyre and soapy water. Man talk about going the extra mile. They get a massive thumbs up from me. If we were anywhere else we would have been going home. Pity its so far to go from the shore....
