    Long Way Down on BBC

    News Flash,

The first episode of Long Way Down has aired on BBC and is available via bittorrent for anyone who missed it. I suggest isohunt or mininova to get the torrent.

The first episode of LWD is very similar to the first episode of LWR. Charlie and Ewan talk about how they got around to planning thier second big motorcycle adventure, they round up the old team and go through all the usual preperations including survival training specific to Africa, sorting out all the kit, getting the latest shiny new BMW GS's, etc.....Its a very light hearted episode full of excitement and tension over the coming adventure. Watching it you can just feel the emotions of what they are about to attempt and its hard not to get fully involved in the drama of whats happening.

They seem to have planned an amazing route through Africa so if you've ever dreamed about touring Africa on a motorcycle then this should be an excellent source of information and inspiration to you.

I missed LWR on TV but hired the DVD. Watching that every night for a week was nearly as gruelling as doing the ride...

    Must watch out for LWD.

The long way round book was awesome too.
    Librarys are great.
Even better than the series coz they are alot more blunt and honest about wat they really think of things
Will be overjoyed if they do a book of this one too

Doubt it, its awesome watching that. I still haven't seen the 10 episode extended series, only the 7 episode one. I've watched it from start to finish in one sitting on more than one occasion. Think I've watched the lot 5 or 6 times now, along with sporadic episodes on sky too.

    Looking forward to this one
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Just finished watching episode 1 of Long Way Down... All I can say is: You won't be disappointed, life events and a Hollywood script aren't actually that far apart, and it's just beautiful. Can't wait till episode 2 shows on Monday

It's quite remarkable how immersive the show is. Part of it is sharing their passion for bikes but the editors are clearly geniuses and get the best bits and mould them into a story.

I only caught a couple of bits of LWR but will have to catch up on it now! Gotta have something to watch in the WSB and MotoGP drought.

Yeah no kidding, not to mention how jealous Charlie got about having to share his mate Ewan on the boys trip.
