Personally I ring people at times I know suits them or we pre-arrange a time to call that suits both ways.

Had a similiar problem. Late night usually isn't a problem around here, but ffs who calls before 11a.m. on a weekend! I turned the ring volume on the phone off. My flatmate doesn't care, if he's even realised. We both keep telling people to ring our mobiles (landline again is only because we have to for internet access) but people being people, they either don't listen or they can't afford a 45 cent phone call on their meagre middle class salaries.

So I guess turn the ring volume down or off when you go to bed, or get a walkabout phone and stuff it under his pillow? Or maybe try a dual handset unit?

They say (whoever the hell 'They' are) that if you mix the letters of words up you can still read them...eg: eleven plus two....mix them up you get..twelve plus one....still readable and the answer is the same, granted, has nothing to do with phonecalls....as ya were...

Well done mate, used to do that to my friends boyfriends. I wasn't very popular with them.

that way you wont be disturbed and your flat mate will get to hear from his family etc
give the gal a major prize! ............

with one provisio - TELL them you are going to do it and why - they probably don't even know how disturbing it is for you.

Different people keep different hours. Call me at 10:30 am and I'll return your call at 2:30 am.

In a flat, the times that suit you may be unsuitable for others, so you will just have to accept that the phone may ring at times that are inconvenient for you.

Sounds like your flatmates need a lesson in courtesy.

You could organise a dawn ride leaving from your house - be a shame if we all turned up on twins now wouldn't it.

Slight issues here ... I would not take the phone off the hook .. I expect to be called in emergencies ... e.g. someone hospital etc. People don't call me after 8.30 they know I am in bed and get taught new languages ... I think most people stop calling 8.30 9.30 or 9 pm .... after that is considered rude.

Does depend who I am calling... if know they go to ZZZZzzz at 21:00pm the I'll ring at 21:01 nah

seriously though I'll ring any time for an emergancy but do concider time otherwise... but as i said depends on the people and how well I know them... I have a couple of friends who I could happily ring at midnight, and others not past 9pm...

I just don't get phone calls....

Easier just to text nowadays as it is less immediate. People can reply when they feel like it.
