Keep the one that belongs to you. Definitely less hassle in the medium term.

Now that I've got rid of GN I'm hoping to get a newer, faster bike. I've got my eye on a older GPX, a 2003 GSX and a FZR. The GSX is certainly the best deal out of the lot but I've got concerns about whether I'd be able to...er...touch the ground on it - I'm a reasonably short guy (5.6) and you can understand how difficult it is when learning to be able to feel comfortable with a heavy bike coming to a standstill.

The FZR is pretty close to me but is older (an 88). All are around the 3-4k mark, what do you guys reckon?

Either way, I think I'll have a new bike in a weeks time

Of course I'll hop on these bikes but its good to get some peoples *current* opinions (yes, I've used the search function..)

i may have a 2006 GPX250 with 11,000 kilometers on it for sale soon. its an insurance (cosmetic) write off that my buddy has put back together and is getting re-registered. asking about $3,500 for it, registered and warranted.

let me know if you're interested.

FYI, the guy who is putting it back together is Derek McAdam who used to work on the NZ team Kawasaki race bikes. he does very good work.

    cheers

Derek used to look after my bikes at Motorad when he was there. Definitely not a noddy.

Heehee. When I find one that needs attention and I turn it into a runner, I reckon I'll make him ride it.

Just so he can appreciate what he's got!

I remember having to use the kitchen stove to heat up the baffles to de coke em. Had a KH 500, but it never started. Still get the chills when I walk into Mt Eden Motorcycles and see the display of KH 's. Oh the humanity!

Yep, do the checks YOURSELF. Do not rely on a mechanic to do them.
