The average fuel usage on a B-train is around 2km per litre + other expenses , hope this makes you all feel better![]()
Illuc ivi, illud feci.
Buggrim, Buggrit.
We just been around East Cape & paid $1.97 for 91, so only $20 in each bike
At this stage we win for paying the most for petrol
If you're not living on the edge you're not leaning over far enough
I always knew there was a reason I didn't buy an 1800!
Oh, you meant one of these...
Redefining slow since 2006...
You little beauty! Working for an oil and gas company our share price reflects the oil/petrol price, so I don't care if you burn it or drink it just use as much as ya bloody can would ya?!
Petrol nowadays is far cheaper than it was fifty years ago compared to earnings. In 1958 my weekly wage would buy 56 gallons, (255ltrs app)
Todays average wage, around $800 would buy 450trs at $1,80 a ltr.
A Triumph Bonneville cost around 9 months wages.
Today's Bonnie would be less than 5 months.
Bring back the bad old days and we'll really have something to complain about.![]()
I never really do the maths regarding the CB's fuel economy, but only last weekend when I filled up from running on fumes, I noticed that the bill was - for the first time ever - over $30.

One reason I like the GB it is cheap to run and easy on tyres. Try not to point this out when folk are discussing there $600 a pair tyre changes
I have to admit that I haven't seen any real reduction either. I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed.
I forgot to add to my earlier post that the other major benefit from a rising petrol price should be reduced traffic congestion. There is also a possibility that houses in the suburbs will get a bit cheaper (since they will be less desirable for commuters). Again I will keep my fingers crossed.
As far as all things fluid goes....petrol aint that bad really...1 Litre of milk will set you back ...$2.39....Bottled water is up there also, if you need it you will buy it, we were in Rarotonga a few months back and 1 Litre of Anchor Milk cost $ 7.10...Fuel was over the $2 mark but we had scooters so no worries really, i have no problem with the price of petrol, i need it so i pay for it...its the fuel companys i have a problem with. 800 km cost you $60? whats wrong with that, bet you had cool time doing it. I see your point tho', but i personally dont worry about the price of something that gives me a heap of pleasure...
