Consider this....... Both meon3 and me have quit for 18mths now. Biggest help for us was having a packet still in the house somewhere.

Seems silly I know but what usually tripped us up in the past was the feeling of, "***k there are no smokes in the house" and this thought normally became all consuming!

Knowing that there were smokes there if wanted seemed to give us the extra power of knowing that we were not not smoking out of choice rather than having forced ourselves by removing ciggies from our home.

Also, if for some silly reason you have a weak moment and puff on one there is not the guilt of thinking, "well I've spent the money might as well finish the packet"

All you have done is used one that was in that packet in the drawer.

Seems silly I know but this has worked for us .....

May the force be with you....

Interesting that. I carried around a roly for about two months. One day I forgot to tuck it not my jacket. That's the day I had a beer to celebrate that I had licked it. Been of non smoker for a long time now.

If you relapse and have a cigarette, don't jump off the wagon all together. That's what people tend to do?

At least pubs are non-smoking now, some say this makes it a lot easier to socialise...

And nice one for giving up.

    Update for today

I posted earlier today that this was a lot easier than I thought. Who the hell was I kidding!!!! I really pity jrandom right now I'm better behaved when I'm pmsing.

I know this has only been 16 1/2 hrs so far but dam I never realised how quickly withdrawal can affect you. I didn't consider myself a very heavy smoker but starting to wonder whether I was just kidding myself. I'm fidgety and feeling uneasy like I need something else.

Yes I would love a smoke right now but I'm not going to. I'm doing this for my health and thats what I keep telling myself...so far it is working while I have cravings but I know it will only work for so long so will have to think of something else to keep telling myself. I'm a stubborn and determined bitch and when I set myself to do something I try to make sure I see it through to the end as I hate failure

The first three days are the hardest. Just focus on getting through those. Being a non-smoker is worth the initial pain.

Just keep going. Take a minute, then add a minute and so on... You'll get there!

Your skin already looks so much younger. Jrandom will be noticing that right now.
