I knew Andre Jacobs well he was a mate of mine such a fucking shame he was a good dude was also a fellow KBer
Too many muppets. Safe travels everyone.
That story about the weekends road toll is shocking. Gives me the shits, especially as I have young teenagers that are getting to the age of wanting to go out partying and want to learn to drive.
RIP Phil (Pinky) SHINE ON YOU CRAZY DIAMOND.
I hope the fucking cager who did the u-turn in front of the biker who died in Palmerston North is up on some serious carges.
Had a van do the same thing on me in the middle of newmarket when I was on my first GB.
farkin hell...such a waste
Any news on who the Palmy North rider was?
R.I.P to those who have fallen.
Very bad weeknd on our roads..
Notice how all the insurance wrecks on trademe under the description for how they got written off they say 'hit by car'?
A mate of mine just had his cruiser written off by a van cutting him off. Luckily he came off with just a sore knee
Yeah, that was my mate's son. His name was Oliver Moreton and I heard about it about 10:00pm last night. I'm in a daze at the moment.
I'd just spent the weekend at the Burt Munro Rally with two mates, one being Dave and we had a great time. Naturally we talked about our kids at various points. The last I saw of Dave was when I left the Wyndham racing and he heard about the death of his son a little later. Fortunately he had family with him at the time.
This is the first time one of my friends has had a child die and I'm finding it incomprehensible.
Notice the subtle slant put on Andre Jacobs' death?
His '1000cc' motorcycle 'ploughed' into an oncoming car.
I didn't see any of the (far more reprehensible) drink-driving deaths using such obvious "temporary citizen" wording.
It would seem that you can drink up, go out in a car, kill innocent third parties and then get written about in nice, neutral tones, but if something goes wrong on a bike and the rider dies, the reporting is invariably painted in emotive shades of self-righteous priggery.
kiwibiker is full of love, an disrespect.

The crashes continue, the deaths and injuries continue. No doubt the needless suffering and loss will continue.
Crashes are no "accident". There is always a cause or number of causes that contribute.
The loss is completely tragic. RIP to the fallen riders and sympathy to the families.
Please guys and girls, ride defensively. Other road users have a real knack for not seeing us and doing the most stupid things right when we least expect.
Yep, noticed that straight away. The fact that plenty of 250cc's go like scalded cats is obviously beside the point. . .
An athlete on a racing bicycle could be honking along plenty fast enough to "plough" head on in to a car and die, but that is obviously also beside the point. Letter to the ed coming up, methinks.
Hmmm, goes away to get thinking cap. . .
Illuc ivi, illud feci.
Buggrim, Buggrit.
Which might make you feel better. And will change the derogatory prose not a jot. They’re a different breed, their thoughts at the keyboard are those of someone manipulating stereotypes in order to pump the emotive quotient, they have no interest in facts, just sales. They also invariably seem endowed with an excess of smarmy social crusader halo wax, any attempt to correct them will be met with an indignant silence.
Also, you may just find that the facts are less than what you might find useful in searching for a more balanced press…
Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon
