Bikers at Kumeu Sunday morning? (25 November)

Hey guys, were any of you at Kumeu at the Stihl shop about 9.00am this morning? There were a few cruisers sitting there looking bored and a few riders waddling around looking like they wanted to go to the loo.

Also a Boulevard - I think - was stopped at the Taukapa/Kumeu intersection of Hanham road about 9.15 ish. Nice guy - he waved. Was that anyone?

Great day for a ride ... on anything!!!!!

We gotta make sure we wave at everybody guys - people are getting too snooty nowadays and living in their own tiny space without interaction.

Not me I'm afraid... Had to do the lawns this morning, as too sick to do anything yesterday.

Great day for a ride, though!

Yeah, was great this morning ... had m/tea at young son's place in Kumeu, looked at his latest fencing efforts on the 10 acre block, then came home - back by lunchtime. Hope to see you this arvo Ed - if you're still breathing, that is.

    My sixpence worth...

Sunday morning; Yep, no kids sport, weather great, roads dry and warm, sod-all traffic (well, this is Auckland so sod-all ish!) and the bike just enjoying the chance to cut-loose a wee bit!
Sorry if this sounds like a ramble, and it is, but Sunday morning was a cracker! Northern motorway (yes, I know, boring as bat-sh!te, but method to the madness!) just happened to be a bunch of Ferrari's heading somewhere together (and that was worth the ride in itself! And you think we can be fanatical in the pride we take in our machines?), Hibiscus Coast road to Silverdale ( as a warm-up; the speed limit of course!), Dairy Flat back through to Albany, then over the bridge. Must admit that I do like those couple of sweepers just before the 80km zone slightly north of Albany - two lanes, great road surface, and the opportunity just to 'pick the line, lean into the cambered corner a bit, a bit of left and right etc, then throttle off as you reach the crest of the hill. Yeah, yeah, I know, there's plenty of real twistys out west, and yes others take that stretch of road at Mach 3 and on 1 wheel!, but I'm happy just getting the knees into the wind, and a few curves where it just comes together. Kinda zen like (tho' no offence to zen students!).
Sorry folks, ramble over - off to do the dishes now...
    Take care out there!

Sounds like Sunday was a good day for a lot of folks. Sorry I missed the Ferraris though - almost worth leaving the grandchildren for another day. But in your ramble, there comes across a sense of pure enjoyment that only a great ride can bring. Long may it continue my friend, and thanks for letting us know about it ...

Sure was. I cruised by with Mrs L on the back and a couple of large Sally Lunns in the saddle bags, that's why I asked. Glad you enjoyed the day - great for the soul.

Never thought of that ... Both girls ... pink hair with raspberry neck thingies. Must be twins, since they appeared at the same time ...
