yeah man, i hate myself. everytime i go out into the garage and see that bike in that condition... but yeah haha.... as for my knee, i got told it could take upto a year to get proper movement back in it, even then i may still have a limp, my elbow is gonna be a problem to, doc said they removed alot of bone in the joint that had fragmentated so i wont be able to fully extend elbow no more either, i guess it's just a perminent reminder tho to take it easy from now on,
It's not speed that kills, it's the idiot in control
I wasn't that close to falling off was I ? only had the back wheel fish tail around for a split second lol
Anyway i was just pushing my boundaries a bit, maybe made a few people uncomfortable, my apologies for that, but im sure everyone has been through the stage.
So yes its cool to point out what shouldn't be done, but there is no need to take everything i say literately, such as "i nearly killed myself on the way back".

Foobin, you might wanna consider that a significant number of experienced riders have expressed concern about the Wednesday Cruisy Night rides. And I can attest that they are not alway THAT cruisy as well. In that light you might wanna reconsider making light of such statements! As for my opinion, if that matters at all, when riding with a large group is not the time to push your boundaries... You can do that on well known empty roads with a couple of mates or take it to the track.
Anyone who's been riding for more than a year is an old timer in my bookAnd no no - there fact that it rhymes with alzheimer is not intentional.
See you tomorrow!![]()
It is preferential to refrain from the utilisation of grandiose verbiage in the circumstance that your intellectualisation can be expressed using comparatively simplistic lexicological entities. (...such as the word fuck.)

Yeah Iv been harping on, but thats only cos I would sooner come across as a wanker than watch this sorta thing happen, with any luck some will take in what happened to you and the finel result.
are you claiming insurance?
If not Im sure it can be straightened up... 4 strokes dont just seize, something may have taken a knock tho and locked up like the gearbox.

Summit Rd thoughts and some...
I think the Summit Rd is a test of character and patients as much as actual riding skill.
It is indeed hard to make smooth lines in the places where the road is narrow and has either a rock wall or trees on each side restricting the view ahead. I find myself riding the middle of my lane, staying off the left in case of cyclists or joggers etc and staying away from the white line in case of oncoming traffic too.
I find I can open up on that road a little more closer to Gebbies when the road moves to the Bays side of the hill, or back the other way on the Sumner side of Dyers Pass primarily because you get a better look at some of the corners where the land is more barren. Those parts of the road are still too tight and narrow for me to get carried away with the gas, but at least you get to set up for a few of the corners then.
Here's a bit of a laugh, if you imagine that whole road as it would have been before they ever sealed it then you'd start to imagine the sort of thing I like to seek out and explore regularly.
The crossing the center line topic...
Now days I too consider the head over the white line (or worse the bike over the white line) to be a bit of a bad habit, and indeed a bit of a lazy way to ride. For me, it was a bad habit I picked up from others I rode with when I was learning.
I eventually noted that I had become so accustom to going faster and using the whole road when I could that it caused me to miss judge and thus feck up the same and similar corners when traffic was actually present.
Now days I mostly try not to make a curvy road too straight and feel I've been forced to cheat if I've had to cross the white line at any time through either too much speed and/or misjudging the apex.
Next week...
I hear murmurings by a few wanting another crack at Duvauchelle.... can we... can we... aye, huh, can we?

Now that is the best thing you could have said in my opinion, experience is a great teacher, as is knowing your limitations, the heat of the moment or adrenaline what ever you want to call it can all to often push one over our ability's. Learning to not be tempted into the chase or to push to hard is one of the most important skills to learn, then remember (I admit it I forget sometimes).
Its not the destination that is important its the journey.
You will and then you will understand.
Holding a mates hand, that he is crushing as he is in so much pain.
And you and other mates are scared that he is going to die.
He will as he does not ride alone and rides with in him self.
So it will be a accident.
It's not I never rode with older riders, just mates.
The trouble is all you younger people do not think, if this goes wrong what will happen.
Once again trying to go to fast to soon.
Sorry Sparrow. not wanting to pick on you.
You have now learnt the hard way and hoping other will learn by your mistake now.
Sorry that is a near crash, as you lost control.
See you in Hospital if you do not learn by this.
Still like the idea of Hospital food?
Think.
What are you doing wrong and do not put other riders out, so they have to go to Hospital to visit you.
OR to go to your funeral.
Good to read.
Top of the class, there is hope for you after all.
Well I think I have now joined the club by typing this.
And trust me, others are thinking this.
You are right it is called Control.
I think that I have probable said to much.
But FUCK it. I hate going to biker funeral.
You will and then you will understand.
Holding a mates hand, that he is crushing as he is in so much pain.
And you and other mates are scared that he is going to die.
Feel the fear and do it anyway
Don't confuse education with intelligence.
There are alot of highly educated idiots out there.
Dispite the many Wednesday Night Rides we've had so far noone's binned. We had nearly 40 bikes turn up, but most still rode at their own pace without trying silly things to keep up, we all made it in one piece and happy, and all made it back again, as we have every week. I think there's been one low speed gravel parking lot spill, but apart from that, nada.
So, you can make your reasoning all you like, but until you've been along a couple of times to see what it's like you're in no position to knock it. Sounds to me like you're just being negative and grumpy for the sake of it. Look at it this way - if they're going to bin anyway, isn't it better to have known them and ridden with them first?
If you're going to be a big negative grump, piss off, don't come. I won't miss that negativity.
Soapbox house of cards and glass, so don't go tossing your stones around.
You musta been.... high. You musta been...
It just occured to me while housecleaning how reassuring it is to read and see that everyone in this group cares about each other. We all have different ways of showing it but at the end of the day no one wants to see anyone get hurt. There wouldn't be group otherwise - and being the completely self-centered woman that I am that would be a BAD thing. Riding in isolation is fun, but riding with others teaches me all sorts of things I can't learn by myself. For a beginner it'a all about having to be humble and admit to knowing just about nothing ... it's all good hey! Hope everyone has an awesome weekend, and travels safely.
