    Dirt Division photographer

Can't help thinking the word "Amateur" should be in the title somewhere..

There are some awesome photographers on this site (I'm not worthy) but I like to take pics of the riders the pros don't, cause I remember the thrill it gave me, as a clubman level racer, to see myself in action.. What really hurt, several years ago, was a garage fire that destroyed all my memorabilia from my racing days.. sniff

I hope this site and my pics give that thrill to a few of you.....

Sorry to here about the losss of your memorabilia but your a better photographer than me we really appreciate your pics on here.
    keep up the good work.

You only need two tools in life - WD-40 and Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.
And now a third thing a bloody big gun to shoot theives with!

I'd watch that comment carefully. I personally prefer a good club day as people tend to show off much more than most big events. Top riders tend to generate more roost, get lower, crash harder, but it's hard to get a peace sign out of them when they're doing a whip at the local club track.

I'm unfortunately at the other end of the island, so I can't just come over and take some photos at Admore anytime I feel like it. I'd love too, I love the practice.

Hi Drew, you'd be made very welcome at Ardmore, that's for sure. I agree with you regarding practice at the local track verses big race days, I enjoy the tail-enders antics.....Reminds me of ME......

I started MX when I was 17, (TM125L, Otaihanga sand track '74) A class mate at Kapiti college, Greg Brinck, got me interested, he got very good, I didn't... Raced clubman level for years, quite a bit of road racing on some pretty weird machinery (that's my old Suzuki TR250 at Southwards) 18 year gap for wife/kids/mortgage, now back into trail riding...In all that time I've never been offered a professional photo of myself on a bike. If that is changing and Joe Average can now get photos from Photographers, then that's great and more power to you.... If you get to Ardmore, ya gotta say gidday and do a few laps on my KDX, not much of an MX weapon, but heaps of fun on such a smooth, well groomed track...........

It's suppose to mean that they were getting very close to saying all "pro" photographers don't care about the little guys (clubmen, juniors and minis), and in most it seems true but there are some of us trying to get around to as many places as possible.

I just don't like that mentality to be spread around, when I'm trying to make an effort (fighting low sales due to high petrol prices, and traveling with high petrol prices) to get to as many events as possible for Mini and Junior guys who don't get that much coverage and have tried to up the profile of Mini by starting that Dirtstar online magazine, which I've passed on to some people who are doing it full time.

This year has been a discovery in fighting politics at the moment, and it's beating me backwards by getting involved in more clubs and events.

I've most probably taken the comment a bit personally, but I'm pretty passionate about my Motocross photography.
