    My contribution to the saga:
    Part one.
    Friday, 08:00
Left home in reasonably good weather, and headed for first stop in Dunners, hoping to look at motorhomes, but the guy wasn't there, so carried on.
Gassed up in Nth Dun and set off again. Planned on taking the coastal route from Evansdale, (the old main road), but roadworks, wet tar, and a mass of roadworks machinery across the intersection made turning off too difficult so took the main drag over the Kilmog.
On to Oamaru for lunch and more gas, Timaru, Ashburton and finally Christchurch where, as usual I got hopelessly lost looking for helenoftroy's street. Asked about 5 people all told and when I asked the last one found we were standing just a block away!
After a shower and a meal we sat and talked, (no prizes for guess what about), and a reasonably early night.
A great start to the weekend; thanks helenoftroy; you really are the 'hostess with the mostest!'

    Part two.

    Saturday, 09:00

After a good breakfast and another chat we set off to meet up with the others at the Peg, and hit the road about 09:30. It was a great ride up, picking up others at Woodend and Greta Valley. The rest of the 'Dooo' is well document, so I'll skip that part, except to say what a ball!

Sunday, time to leave...pack up the tent etc. and we left via the old main road. Lotsa twisties as opposed to the new main road which is a bit like a tightly pulled string. Too soon we arrived back on the main road.
Our small group regrouped at Amberly, where oldrider suggested letting the others go on ahead, and we would cruise along at our own pace.
Lunch in Christchurch and then he led me down through Lincoln Road and on to Springston and Leeston and back to the main road at Rakaia?
Cool drinks at the Chequered Flag and on to Temuka where we parted company. I grouped up with a couple of Triumphs, but they turned off just out of Temuka.

Awesome job with the piccys people

The weekend for us hardy southern bunch started thursday with a meet up at 12 ... turnin into 1 pm with myself connor cold comfort and delphinus then off to the west coast. Splitting into two connor and I picked up outbackal at cromwell and then met with the others at Makarora for a drink stop. The speedy sportsters took off and al and I cruised along at a more leisurly pace. First night at Franz Joseph then off to the stagin post. Somewhere along the way we parted company as outbackal connor and I took the more scenic route up the coast and thru the buller gorge ... not perhaps intended but what a fantastic trip . Others had long arrived before us but it was well worth the time taken. A night of hilarious converstation, pool and pingpong followed. Took off to Kaikoura early next mornin to do a few things then met the main bunch for the ride thru Waiau. What a great road and was awesome being part of a ride with so many others loved every minute of it. Have really got sum serious cornering practise in these last few days. Back to camp and had the best evening... so many new people and lots of well known kbers too what a great turn out Was sorry to have to go the next morning but set off pretty early and took sum time to call in and see Phaedrus in Timaru with Nighthawk and connor, was great to see him still with a grin. Believe he is back in Dunners now.
All up, it was the best time and cant wait till the next one.

    Part three.

Carried on to Oamaru where I took a cabin for the night, and caught up with a grand-daughter I hadn't seen for about three years.

    Monday.
Gassed up. ( I seem to have been doing a lot of that!) Put on my rainsuit as it was starting to rain and off to Dunedin where I took it off again and caught up with the Motorhome man.Put my name on one that I liked as soon as I saw it. Just need to organise the dosh now!
Last leg to home and the only close call for the whole weekend, less than
10km from home. The FH boys have been busy patching the road and loose pebbles had been thrown over to my side. I hit them about two feet from the centre line and started sliding. When I crossed the line on the outside I thought, "This is going to hurt!" However, I stopped sliding about two inches from the edge of the seal. Needless to say I rode the last few km a little more
    sedately.
Back up to Milton in the cage to collect the dogs from the Kennels this morning and had a puncture on the way home.
That adds another 180km on to the weekend at both ends.
All up, a great weekend; covered just 20 short of 1500km on the bike.
Thanks to all who organised the event. One of the best weekends of my life!

Ummmm yup what can I say... is what Free2b said... After visiting Tim in Timaru I headed back up to Ashburton to stay with a friend as I had monday off, seeing and giving a bit of wave to Jack, Mark and I can't remember at this point the third rider in tow... then 5 minutes behind Daffyd and OldRider.

Where's next years I need put in leave now...

Over all a great weekend even though it started with a bit of a dampner.
