Bike is bleeding to death

Hey guys, well looks like my bikes electrical systems are bleeding to death. Had a headlight/indicator failure on the way home at night today!! Dunno why but 1 headlight went yesterday, another went just before and my indicators are really playing up. Was at burger fuel, bike had been off for only 15min and i still had to kick the shit out of her to start! Ended up having to WOT her, filled burger fuel up with two smoker fumes and basically the whole of parnell looked at me lol this was after a couple engine deaths. SHame on stalling in front of everyone but apart from that i'm really worried bout the electrics. Will have to ride it carefully tomorrow morning to the bike store i guess. Any ideas people?

Are they the typical small bike flywheel mag ? If so, when one bulb goes, odds are it will take the others out. Or, your battery may be knackered. Are you raping the little thing, they need their necks wrung all the time. If it's not WOT all the time it'll clog up.

your headlight bulbs tend to die when you drop your bike, batteries will die with age and sometimes don't like being tipped upside down, and there's not much you can do about it apart from keeping her upright and keeping her charged

cool, so all i have to do then is source some new lights and install them? Any ideas of how much RG150 lights cost...spending too much money on this bike aye.

Go to a automotive electric workshop/store not repco etc and you will only have to spend half the amount.

Maybe get your charging system checked also. If the reg/rec is "fritzed", (proper technical term), the voltage could be going "apeshit", (another regonised term), and frying the bulbs.
An obvious sign of a damaged rec/reg, is the constant need to top up the battery.(overcharging).

I'd like to concur with Triboy, but only because he is using the appropriate engineering terms expertly.

Buy a cheap multimeter from Suercheap or Dick Smith for a tenner & put it over the battery when you rev it (any fool can learn how to use one, will be useful later in life). If it is over 15V (going apeshit) when running then you need a new regulator (for the old one is kafungered) quickly before it kills something else (fortunately CDI is separate cct), but could burn out stator charging coils & as many bulbs as can eat.

maybe flick it and get a good one? or buy a really BIG iron and get rid of all these small issues you are having

Feck, those 2 strokes can be a handful of work eh.

Flick that piece of junk away and get yourself a VTR or perhapes a nice CBR if you can find it cheap.

I am sure you when you bought the bike you didn't expect this much of a surprise!

farkin tell me bout it lol Two strokes are fun but maintenance wise im learnin the hard way, well can't afford another bike aye and if i was to get one a bulletproof gn that i can thrash and bash and ride through thunderstorms would be in order...and none of this they are too slow stuff, some michelins front and back and they are all good. lol But for now i must swallow my pride get my bike fixed and hit the road again.

Charging systems and goo on your rear tyre have nothing to do with it being a two-stroke. And everything to do with it being a Suzuki

his bulbs are gone cause he dropped his bike again, unless when dropping the bike he buggered the charging system and the fuses are too strong

yeah - buy an fxr150 or a vtr/cbr/cbf/gpx/zxr/gsx250 or anything else reliable if you really wish to change bike - but the RG150 isn't bad, and asfaik you have only had accident related problems and nothing specific to the two-smoke engine (yet) so don't give up!

don't fix the fairings till you're done crashing, simply get new bulbs at a few bucks each and put them in yourself - then if they die for no reason you can borrow my multimeter

lol you guys make it sound like im accident prone yeah she's a ripper and i ain't getting rid of her till the bloody engine falls out of the frame *well maybe a bit before that happens* anyway bike should be fixed today and i'm not gonna weld the fairing for a while.
