    Africa on a GN250

Don't be ashamed of your humble GN250's, for they are mighty!
From Italy to Capetown in South Africa, and back to the top again.

Good on the bloke. Lightweight single cylinder motorbikes have been doing the business for 50yrs+. Long may it continue.

That's cool! Sometimes I feel a bit left out that I don't have the latest and greatest bike, but this guy's travels remind me that it's not the latest bling that matters.

    Thanks steam!

Awesome!!!!! Tell Lorax he's definitely got to take the GN on his next big ride after seeing this!
"I came into this game for the action, the excitement... go anywhere, travel light,... get in, get out,... wherever there's trouble, a man alone... Now they got the whole country sectioned off; you can't make a move without a form."

Paved roads are just another example of wasted tax payer dollars.

Meh I'm not surprised. Like Triboy said, lightweight primitive thumpers, there's a reason why they still use that old technology in the harshest motorcycle environment (offroad).

After seeing a few of these it makes the Long Way Down/Around series seem rather tame to be honest. Good on the guy i bet he had a blast.

A friend of mine and his girlfriend (now wife) did the overland trip to England back in about 1990 on a BMW R80G/S. He said that if he ever had to do the trip again on his own then he would do it on a 250 single. Cheap to buy and run and if you're only doing 100km per day anyway it will do the trip just fine.

Also, I have NEVER been ashamed of my GN, its the best bike in the world to me because its MINE.
