    RIP.

Agree with the difficulty in suddenly adjusting to the other - (feels) 'wrong' - side of the road. I do it quite a few times a year.

Actually easier on a bike than in a car and I find a heck of a lot easier when in a city - I always start and finish trips in a city when I can.

The one time I did not was when I first test-rode the big bike in very quiet rural Pennsylvania. With no traffic and nothing to 'clue me in' I rolled out of the bike shop (in a location much like the Taupo track - but even less traffic - and did a good (or I should say bad) 1/2km on the wrong side of the road - until I woke up to reality.

One of my friends swears by sticking a dayglo arrow and KEEP RIGHT on the screen of his rented US bikes. I tried this and it works well.

Fatal motorcycle... 24th December 2007 22:04 Sharry SHoot? We dont need any more deaths thank you

It's like this. Sometimes you can take the piss to illustrate a point.

Or we can take everyone deadly serious.

    Merry Christmas Sharry.

    Nothing to worry about Jim.

It's just that KBers are suffering from an acute irony deficiency and a less than adequate appreciation for sarcasm.
At least he didn't red you just because you redded him or something equally daft.

    There is that!

Santa just turned up, shagged the wife, drank all my beer and ate the plum duff.

    I'm a bit annoyed now.

Maybe I will start shooting American tourists. After all, they invented Santa Claus.

Most of the rental cars i transported while i was carting cars had fluro yellow keep left arrows on the instrument cluster, Great idea! Perhaps it could be a government could issue them to all tourists upon entry. Would work for cars, campers and bikes!

wouldnt the easy idea be that we all just simply drive on the same fucken side of the road ...........

After all wernt all our road signs changed to match with the rest of the world

And they want to change the left hand turn rule

    What the fuck

    no wonder were all 50/50
with money and weights and now road rules

My Uncle had a rental car the other day and it had an arrow with keep left on it right in the middle of the speedo...seemed like a good idea

Tragic. Thoughts with the families involved, it must be awful for the surviving rider as well. Surely you can't walk away from being involved in a tragedy such as this without it having a profound effect on you as well (short of having no conscience whatsoever). Soppy sounding I know, but treasure your loved ones and cherish the time we're given to spend with them - you never know when it will come to an end.

Nonetheless if Jim starts shooting american tourists it's more like a "fucking doing the world a favour" effort...

(Jokes aside, the American tourists I've met have actually been really good folks... Apparently in the USA if you're stupid enough not to appreciate the rest for the world you won't have the means to travel out there. That's certainly better than Denmark!)
