    Police pursuit crash - male motorcyclist in Waitakere City (28 December)

    Location of incident: Waitakere City.
    Incident Type: Police pursuit crash

    A male motorcyclist has crashed attempting to avoid a pursuing police unit in Waitakere City this evening at 8.10pm. The motorcyclist had refused to stop for the marked police patrol that had activated warning lights and sirens. The pursuit, which continued for 2 - 3 minutes at moderate to high speeds, ended when the motorcyclist lost control and crashed at the intersections of Parrs Cross and Henderson Valley Roads. The motorcyclist suffered serious leg and shoulder injuries and has been taken to Auckland Hospital. A police serious crash unit is investigating the crash and the Police Complaints Authority will be informed.

    Try riding a sports bike, them mirrors are next to useless your honour. I honestly didnt see the coppa..... guvna...know what i mean....innit....

    yeah especially on my bike....

    consideringi don't have any.

    why do i needa see where ive already been.

    that and i don't want to rely on mirrors.....means i must do a head check.

    Yep, agree with you there. Got just the one bar-end for legal purposes; often keep it flipped downwards, which means you can't see anything in it at all. Keeps you from being lazy.

    Silly place to do a runner, really. Way too many other hazards.
