Just out of interest...is it possible to do a NZ landspeed record attempt on a bike at this event??? and have it legitimised?? I might know someone who's keep to give it a crack on a fucking fast bike [no not me...I have a slow bike and i'm slow...ask drew!!]

We have had three enquiries about this now - the rules are pretty stringent but the Chairman and Secretary of the Cliff Hanger Promotions Committee seem confident.

We won't be entertaining the idea though until someone cracks 307kph on the 'downwind' stretch first. (has to be an average of two runs in each direction)

So if the person turns up on the day...and he records more than 307kmph in both directions...he will have the NZ land speed record...or he might have??

The logistics of having runs in both directions complicates things. Were we considering doing the two-way run this time around Dean ...er I mean Deano?

We're all skilled motorcyclists. You could have different runs start from each end at the same time.

Mind you a closing speed of more than 600 km/hr would give me the runs.
