Don't use VHT enamels as they wash off like watercolours with water when fuel hits them.

Duplicolor acrylic enamels are really easy to get great finishes with and are cheaper than laquers assumming you are doing the spraycan thing.

    Re: number boards.

I'm entering in F3 at Paeroa, Pro Twins in VMCC (F3 if no pro twins available), and maybe Pro Twins at Manfeild round of the Nationals next year (if there are enough entries on the grid....???).

So which colour number board do I actually need and do I have to change it if I change classes ?

What if I wanted to cross enter at Paeroa F3 and F2 ? I haven't noticed people changing their number board when cross entering.

People seem to ignore the numberboard and regulation sizes in the rulebook. Why have rules if they aren't inforced? Correct sized numbers and backgrounds are hard to fit on modern racetails especailly if you have a 3 digit number.

I'd say if your bike is ProTwin use a protwin background for everything. That way when your racing against F3 spec bikes people will know your doing it on a ProTwin.

Thinking more on your paintwork. Isn't your tank in good nic and original colour? If so I'd base my paintjob around leaving the tank original.

Why haven't you entered for the Manfeild round of the Nationals in Feb?

The tank was mint.....until I sanded it. But realistically, it ain't ever going back on the road so I might as well go to town on it. And orange soooooo clashes with red dahling.

I thought I would do the VMCC series before having a go at the Nats.

Gloss black top half and matte/satin black bottom half (or vice versa) with a white dividing stripe which starts wider at the front and narrows

If you do the VMCC it will be pissing down with rain and cold as hell. Doing the Nats its 5 weeks off so you have plenty of time. The weather will be great and you'll get heaps of tracktime and 3 good races against people I know you can beat or aleast have fun trading positions with.

A nice shade of Batts Pink, I think.

    I'm sure MT would agree.......
