    BUT.

As we are only having 2 races a day that count for the points..... at 15 laps each direction... which only last a MAX of 10-15min each...

that leaves 3.5hrs of "other" races and practise...

    we have at the moment

open class... that DOES mean OPEN.. you turn up and if you want to race/ride really, really fast, (like i do) you can go out.

50cc class.... this is for ....... 50cc engined bikes HONEST!
in this class, we usually let out the noobies, ( and me cause i suck.. at racing..)

scooter class.... ( but some of the scooters go in the open)

ALSO we have the motard class...

we also will stop all racing to let out noobies that need the time by themselves... this is a GREAT time for all new comers, as there is time for training...

hopefully there will be at least 3 bikes for other people to abuse/ride/to have ago to see if they would like to get into the sport.

like Quall said, bring ya $ 10... helmet, boots, leathers ( ok we have spare of these also..or borrow from one of the other races that is your size)

i have a bike...her is named Christine.......yes if i can get her running you may have a go!........

but getting to the main point again...

if there are enough girls ( ie, more than 3) i am SURE that the boys (perverts) will love to let yous all out in your own races with your own points!!
but to do this you will need to turn up and be counted!... all the time. the season ran ALL last year, once a month..
we are all hoping this will be the case this year
I'm keen so long as I can get dates ahead of time so I can arrange us a babysitter - worst comes to worst we'll bring the boy along and tag team the supervisory duties

do what i used to do with luke... when he was tooooo young to ride, put him in the car seat next to the track where he could see what was going on!
when he was older..3-5 years, he would wonder around the pits and "help" all the others....

    now he beats me

    what a ride so far!!!!

Ha ha - yeah I can see Ryan 'helping' everyone.

...infact that gives me an idea...maybe we could train him in the art of sabotage!

But speaking as the first lady of Wellington OPEN buckets ...SUlly60 doesn't need any help with that...

    NWM BoB Series update

    Hello fello BoBs!

The organiser is keen and is soon to release the round calendar.

What we need to determine is how we'd like to run things and I am keen to just confirm there are enough of us to see it through and that we run it in a way that works well for all concerned.

As a ball park to give you a feel for it - Currently the boys pay $35 a day and that gets them 2 15min points racing and about an hour or so of practise. The run track in both directions too so keep those bum cheeks even

ANyway - the season is once every month from roughly from End Feb through to December. I foresee a prizegiving with girly biker trophies! oooooooo anyway - snap out of it woman

I offer you some questions to consider...

How many of you want to just flag the girls race idea and just get out there with everyone else?

    OR
How many of you are keen for a full season of 1 or 2 races at each round?

    Or
How many of you would be more keen to just join the fellas for a couple of rounds at a civilised spacing (beginning, middle and end kinda deal).

Let me know then I can look into options with Bayden based on where the majority of the groups interest lies.

    bye

Have to say... on further thinking.... I have to agree with the good Skunk Control that I would like to try it out a bit first before committing myself to a full season.

Ok ok...so now that it's all on the 'table' it's a bit scarey isn't it?! I hope you aren't all backing out now...sounds a little bit suspect. I'd just like to say to that 'trying it out' is probably best done a couple of times....know I'm going to suck at this and if I were to decide on keeping at it off the back of my first couple of trips round the slipway I probably wouldn't do it again for shame!

I hear that yas want to give it a go first and without the boys...that's my angle too and Bayden seems pretty keen to let us be a group on our own out there.

'Racing' is a nice term and I apply it to myself in this instance as: Just trying to go as fast as I am comfortable with (ie: not stalling bike in corners cos I slowed down too much)...which for my first couple (or 100) goes will no doubt be rather slow!

Have been and watched the boys heaps of times on various tracks over the years and it looks like great fun. I have yet to see someone bin it and not be in hysterical laughter about binning it....read that as - it doesn't hurt cos you ain't goin that fast and you ain't that high off the ground!

Given most of yal have come back to me saying you are either 'easy' (not cheap though aye Trudes?) or have commitmnets that would make a full season commitment difficult - I'm thinking the best way to arrange our first 'dedicated NWMBoB series' would be to pick 3-4 dates spaced throughout the series and ask that we get 2 races at them....that way we can arrange to ALL be there to ALL give it a go and to have heaps of fun in the process...and we can arrange to girly up the pits (well maybe just our bit) so we can be in ultimate comfort for the day also! Plus with only a couple of dates we would still be allowing the boys to have their sandpit mostly to themselves for the season

My intentions are: I'm going to try to get there for most of the rounds....need the practise and would love to join hubby and watch him(he is the defending Open class champ this season) so if anyone is else is keen to pop down - I should be there...and since I can get into hubbies old race leathers I will be pushing myself to have a go with any other very slow learner types....if not with other ladies.

Will post the dates once I have them and we can look to pick some suitable ones IF all agree with my proposal that is. Otherwise I'll get me damn pink t-shirt and wear it with pride all on my ownsome

They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them
