Post classic Racer tyre recomendations ?

    Hi All,
Finally decided to give racing a go after years of watching and road riding, I am building an XS850 based pre 82 bike because its what I have spares fo and no how to fix.
Not an ideal choice due to shaft drive but I just want to have a bit of fun.

The bike is completely lightened and should weigh about 190kg and with the 900 motor have about 90hp at the crank.
I will start with track days at ruapuna to get my skill level up but hope to race at ruapuna/levels/greymouth street/nelson street when $$$ permit.

My question is what is a good tyre for this situation, I run bridgestone BT45r on my road bike and like these but are the suitable for the track ? .
Or is another tyre more suitable ?, due to budget I will need the tyres to last a few events.
Due to shaft I can only run a 120/90/18 on rear , front is 110/90/19

    Any advice greatfully accepted
    Cheers

BT45's are a pretty popular tyre in post classics. I would imagine that there is good reason for that...
Go for it. And don't forget to post some piccies of your bike.

Yes they are, I run them on my Pre82 RD350LC and reckon they'd be hard to beat, although the BT39 which I haven't ridden on is meant to be pretty good

Is there a difference between BT45R and the BT45 Touring such-and-such that are listed on Cycletread's website?

I think you will find the R just means "rear"

Cheers Gents, I think I go with the Battlax's.

Pic below of the bike before I stripped it down to get rid of all the road gear, will get some new ones soon.

    Cheers

Whoah, hot! That's stunning. I can see where you lost all the weight, that's a proper café racer
