If he decides to take it further just post something up here. There are a few of us on here who know about Employment Law and that exciting stuff and will be able to help. The important thing for a start is just to take notes on anything that is said and not be rail-roaded into a meeting about it at say 5 minutes notice. Try to make it the next day if it comes to that but if you've removed the vid and apologised you'd hope that it wouldn't go any further.

Unless your contract contains a very explicit clause forbidding such stuff, an employer would have difficulty making any disciplinary charge stick (I assume you *have* read your contract ? ).

If your contract says "You must not ever post photos or anything else about us pouring concrete in public media" , then yes, boss has a point.

But if he's just relying ton the general good faith, loyalty and confidentiality stuff, I doubt he's got a case. (Giving your reasonable efforts to comply with his objections) .

Oh, and if things do start going pear shaped, do not agree to a meeting without a union representative , or lawyer present.

If you get called into a meeting , not knowing whats going to happen, and it starts getting bad, politley say that you do not wish to continue the meeting any furtherr until you have reprensentation

I don't think the video itself is objectionable more the fact that the chain of command was not followed in regard to media distribution. I'm trying not to sweat about it too much. I'm no angel - I've done shit when I was younger that got my ass fired several times and this just bring ups painful memories and makes you question yourself etc.

Thanks for the support and tips for resolution. I've sent an email to my bosses expressing my apologies and stated that it was a regrettable mistkae, all I can do is wait for Tuesday's meeting.

    Whoa,

The American military allows footage taken by it's soldiers killing towel-heads go all over youtube, but your employer doesn't allow concrete pouring?

Yeah well, the other thing is that I haven't been here 3 months yet so it may come under a probationary period. In which case I may well be fucked. It's all speculation at this stage though so there's no sense in panicking... just yet...

Nope, I dont think they can.... I went through some shit at my job in Dec just before Xmas and I had only been here since 1 Oct.... Long story short, (cause I cant remember what the deal was) they cant actually get rid of you "just like that". You have to have done something that would fall under Serious Misconduct in your contract. They can only give you a warning.... I'm sure someone else will be along witt the facts....

Just try not to hug them eh!

The British military released the gun cam footage of the second Apache, where the first had two Marines riding shotgun on the weapons pylons to get a fallen comrade, on youtube.
