By coincidence, I finished the last 20 minutes today at work by reading an HR magazine. In it was an article about people putting stuff to do with their company on the 'net. Many different actual cases were covered from here and overseas. There are quite a few different things to take into account in cases like these so you can't really judge it on face value. Where people have got into trouble though and stuff has gone to the courts, the courts have generally supported the employee.

I'm happy for the discussion to be had. While my situation is in hand, the resultant info of this thread has value - maybe not to me but it may help someone else.

You should talk to some of the British Marines. They loving being out there and doing the shit most people would rather avoid at all costs, they are a little bit "special" in that way!

A number suggested such heroism was nothing out of the ordinary for the marines. One former sailor calling himself “Ancient Mariner” wrote: “I believe it’s covered in week 7 of the [Royal Marines’] course at Lympstone [Devon], just after the ‘leaping over tall buildings in a single bound’ module and before they learn to make bullets bounce off their chest.”

A former marine, posting as Old Booty, added that the medals were unimportant. “What is worth more, to become a corps’ legend and go down in history as ‘one of those nutters on the Apaches’, or a medal?”
And the guys who had the biggest balls didn't get recognised as much as the pilots.

How about you give them a written warning for putting this stuff on your internet thread without getting your permission first?

I mistakenly bought a new beer tonight, I saw wheat beer and after being in Europe, Switzerland in paticular had a few nice ones, I thought I would try this Speights attempt! Except when I get home I see that its Apricot flavoured! Arrggghhhh not too bad though, a bit sweet.

YUK! Fruit-flavoured beers are not yummy. I dunno why beer companies try them again and again, there has NEVER been a successful fruit-flavoured beer in New Zealand.

You meant to post that in the Beer thread eh?

    Wink

Concrete pouring!! I was searching high and low to find it. But obviously it has been deleted. I was sooo dissappointed. There is nothing like concrete to give you a hard-un...

May the bridges I burn light the way.

The offending material was removed less than 20 minutes after the boss rang.
