Talking Harley vs Jappa Who will win,,,,,,,,

Hello all i have recently jumped the ditch and have found an interesting challange being put forward to me. Im looking to buy a bike and as i work in the realm of harleys everything i look at i get a rather large amount of grief about jappa,s.... So i put forward a wee bet to the man with the fastest harley at my work place. Now this is where it gets interesting as his bike has a 124" S&S aftermarket engine in it with all the bells and whistles.... Im looking at either a 07 Z1000 or a 07 FZ1. " who do you think will win "
We are talking 1/4 mile drag..

I will be interested to see the result. However a drag race tells you nothing about how the bikes will ride on the road.
    Time to ride

I would agree there... both bikes need to be in the same class before you call it a fair race...

A purpose built harley and a purpose built jappa for the quarter mile then it would be a different story. an S&S aftermarket engine isn't exactly a stock Harely is it..

As for the above, do a series of tests...
    • 1/4 Mile.
    • Hill Climb.
    • Track.

Harley with a 124" S&S motor isn't going to be slow, you could have picked your fight a bit better

A better question to ask is...

Who do you think will care? Will it change anything?
