Needed - Leather worker in Wellington

I need to have a extention put on the bottom of my leather jacket but a yellow pages search is not really brining anyone up who can do this.

Does anyone know the names / contact details of someone that can help?

    Many thanks

I would try Spittie. He's a tailor in Mazengarb Rd, Paraparumu, is a KBer and has done both Cordura (mine) and Leather (phils) riding gear repairs. Besides, it means that you have to ride over Paekak or Akatarwas to get to him from your place - what can be bad about that?

BTW, I notice that you are a "Scooter Boy" ... how come you haven't told us about your gender reassignment?

Anil at Shoe and Bag Repair in Majoribanks St, just around the corner from Wellington motorcycles is very, very good and has been doing leather repair for more than a decade for motorcycle gear.

Just in case some people haven't noticed, Paraparaumu is NOT Wellington as the map attached will show.

Oh FFS ... we're motorcyclists ... of course it's part of Wellington ... especially if it's over one of the best hill rides in the country!

Give Dusty a call. He's local to you too.

I've never had too many issues with his service, and my experience of his after sales service was nothing short of bloody good.

Dusty is the man. probably more years that all the rest combined. And a nice guy. Say Ian Disney recommended him.

super, thanks folks I will call them tomorrow and see what I can organise. And I agree with Grub, anything south of Parmy has to be wellington when it comes to riding. Love the hills although got a flat tire on the Akatarwas on Sunday when coming back from Dannivirk.

I know you have asked for someone 'in' Wellington, but if you can travel out a bit, how about 'Celtic Leathers' in Pahiatua?

Dusty will do those types of leathers too...

I have a jacket that Dusty (Leda Leathers) made in the early '80s. Had to take it back to get the zips replaced because the metal had worn out again. The leather has never needed repairing even after a few trips 'off bike'.
