The radars can't distinguish between individual vehicles in a group, so who was speeding.... some of them... all of them....

When he passed me at the back of the group his radar was off.

    Was it ever on??

Often when heading to another job or home for tea I don't even bother to turn it on. (unless I see a group of bikes/cars that look like a 'tickle-up' wouldn't go amiss!!!)

I had a great ride last night. That's the best run I've ever had from Little River to Duvauchelle - only came across one car in my way the whole time, carved up the corners really nicely, was in the groove... even touched the exhaust pipe down around one corner - whoops! Didn't think I was that close to touching down. I'm glad it didn't make my rear wheel skip though, that could have been messy...

Great to finally meet you too Jen, had been wondering if you'd turn up! As soon as you turned into BK, though, I knew it had to be you. Great effort for making it even though you'd only just gotten into town after several hours and several hundred kms riding!

The radar will lock on to the closest TWO targets, but the copper aint stupid he kmows 20 odd bikes wont pull over and they wont own up even if the cop knows his bikes.

was going around a corner around blenheim couple of days ago, and around the corner comes a brand new Buel carving it up realy well, he realy was in the groove.....asphalt was a bit to hot and gave way.....
He was lying so flat already he only dropped another inch and slid, and slid, and slid ...hitting the wood/steel barrier
I stopped ready to aplly first aid..ring emergency services etc...
By the time I had my bike on stand, the rider crawled up and took his bike, pushing it of the road.....
His leather jacket saved the day, his normal jeans were shredded a bit here and there...apart from that he was ok.Txting his mate to pick him up..
The fairing protected him, only saw indicator and gearlever missing....

Not too sure, but I'm sure we'll come up with something. Weather forecast looks okay so far, so hopefully it'll be a nice evening

Hows about the Leader Valley loop? Do it anticlockwise so that the sun is at our backs.

    Radar ....

Yep you are right, it will lock on to the closet two. The best defence is simply to say "Are you sure it couldn't have missed my bike and locked on the bike behind me? Are you certain you were tracking me and not another bike?".

With a car this doesn't work too well, since a car is large enough to block the reading from the vehicle behind. With a bike it's entirely possible the radar misses the lead bike (or 2) and picks up the bike behind that. This of course all depends on how close the bikes are (formation). The key here is that it raises the *question* of accuracy and the *possibility* that the radar lock is on something/one else.

If you do get pulled over in this case, be NICE, but forceful - it wasn't me - are you SURE it was me?

PS: Looking fwd to joining you as soon as I am in home in ChCh on a Wed.
