Unhappy No bike for a month...

What do you do to kill the time (especially in the summer) when you can't ride (for whatever reason). I've been bike-less for exactly a month now and ITS FUCKING MURDER!

Hopefully I'll get my bike back on the 12th 13th of Feb - but what the hell should I do in the meantime? How do you guys keep it together when you can't ride - or don't you care... Any ideas?

Maybe go and test ride some bikes......... that way you will get in some sort of riding.

Unless you are injured, then go for walks or catch a bus or two and go to some bikes shops to perve over all those bikes sitting there....

Do some gardening or tidy up the garage to make more space for your bike for when she returns to you.
Maybe even tidy up the house (inside and outside)

Watch some dvd's... watch the rugby sevens that is currently being seen on TV1...

Lots of things to do, that will keep you amused until your baby returns.

    I was going to say:

Spend an hour cleaning your chain.

Spend 3 hours cleaning your wheels.

Spend 2 hours cleaning the brake callipers.

Spend an hour cleaning the bike.

Spend an hour polishing the bike.

Spend an hour ordering new bits for the bike.

Spend a week waiting by the letter box.

Spend 3 hours fitting new bits........ find you did it wrong......

Spend 5 minutes reading the instructions.

Spend 5 minutes refitting new bits.

Spend an hour changing the brake fluid and bleeding the brakes.

Spend 1/2 hour changing the oil and filter.

Oh sorry I see you have/had a Hyobag.......

Mate, it's worse having a perfectly good bike sitting in the garage that you can't ride due to injury, only another 5 weeks to go....

Exactly. I haven't ridden since October 21st, and yesterday I was told it wont be until mid June. That is just too bloody long. I'm going to try and emulate One Armed Bandit this weekend and at least see if I can manage some short rides with only one working wing.
    Time to ride

I would be going out and hiring a bike. Unless of course I couldn't ride due to injury....

I have only been riding for a short time, however I get the restless bug if I don't get out on the bike at least once every day.....

Can't imagine weeks on end without a bike...

Why not take on some extending of your mind, do a History paper, read some classic novels, watch some classic movies, do some charity work etc.

I watch bike porn. I'm off the bike with a head cold. TWO. WHOLE. FUCKING. DAYS. So far. I can live with the cold, but, no riding??!@?!? I have consoled myself by walking into the garage and lifting the cover. It's like Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Only because I've been home 3 hours and lifted the cover about 5 times.
It’s diametrically opposed to the sanitised existence of the Lemmings around me in the Dilbert Cartoon hell I live in; it’s life at full volume, perfect colour with high resolution and 10,000 watts of amplification.
