    Blind corner? Not once. Ever.

Perhaps ...this time...but we are tired of his continually making out that every motorcycle crash/death is the biker's fault.
He needs to learn to keep his thoughts to himself in threads like this,..speculation and innuendo is never encouraged in 'aftermath' threads.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

I'll express my thoughts as I see fit until such times as the moderators call "enough". If you don't like it - stiff shit.

Possibly because you took up biking at a more mature age than I.

In my teen years I could have been mistaken for Skidmark unfortunately.

Nice to see there are others around with more self control than I used to have.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

The wife and I went over this road and back on Saturday. Saw a couple with flowers heading towards some paint marks on the road side when we were heading south
When we returned we stopped at the top for a look, headed back down to find a car half on my side of the road cutting the corner, was a hell of a lot closer than i like then the same guy did the same thing to my wife who was behind me on her bike on the next corner
That has to be my worst fear riding those tight roads

I don't ever really overtake anyone lol unless they are going slower than 70/80 on the open road, R.I.P. Never overtake on a blind corner....there is a reason it's called a blind corner. Only time i ever overtake anything is when i can see for ages, otherwise i'm too nervous of whether a campervan/vehicle will suddenly materialise and mow me down.

That prat obviously doesn't see a problem with it, and/or didn't get a fright when he took your space. Bet he would regale you with tales of how good a driver he is, never had a ticket, speed kills and all that crap. Bastards. Should be slow-roasted over hot coals.

It's standard for that particular road. You just have to be awake to the living fact that people in cars and SUVs will be on your side of the road from time to time.

    Agreed.

On several occasions when Ive been riding with other people Ive met someone on my side of the road on a corner. When I got to the summit Ive mentioned it and someone else had had the same issue with the same car a few corners earlier or later.

Don't accept it. Isn't this an example of how the HP might actually do some good if they did a few blitzes on that road with their trick of taking photos of line-crossers?

The HP aren't after "unsafe" drivers on Paekak Hill Rd, they're after speeding motorcyclists.

You can't fix the problem. People have been educated that Speed, Drink, Seat belts, and now Drugs are the only issues on NZ's roads.

Sad and pathetic, innit? Thinking is not required.
