I'm certainly old enough, but I've heard heaps of horror stories about their rides - no concept of group-riding etiquette, dangerous overtaking, undertaking, etc, etc... Could all be fairytales, but it's a bit off-putting.

they didn't ask me to post but I have been hassling them to come down here so I thought I'd spread the word .......

Was that accident the one on the road from Beaumont to Clydevale??? If it was then did it involve several Harleys? (and NO this is not an attack on Harleys....... OK OK if you really want to take it like that its quite OK to think its an attack on Harleys!!)

Good road, that, but a lot of lichen in the shady areas...can get slippery.
It's the one I normally take to Central.

Yr that was me who was involved in that Ulysses club run accident on the Rongahere road [about 5km from Beamount] on Oct. 29th 2000. There were 7 riders taken to Dn. Hosp. 2 serious, and 5 bikes written off. Resulting in Jim Allan dying on 13th Jan. 2001.

Yep, all the bike shops do them. Usually no appointment required, although you may need to leave it with them for a while.

    MCR are quite good.
