Gotta slow you down on that RGV some how!

Maybe, just maybe the GNs won't be so far behind now.

I think that big bikes would be not happy with our not licence loosing pace. too slow for them, but I still hope someone on big bike will come.

coppers are generally pretty sweet given your not exceeding the speed limit by huge amounts.

I don't use a L plate and I don't travel at 70km/h. Driving at 70 when trucks and cars are doing 100 is kinda stupid. I think its safer to go with the flow

Dunno how flash you guys are but I don't have much gear. Jacket, helmet, gloves, steel cap work boots and jeans (maybe two pairs lol)

Ive worked it out that it costs me $50 per loop, including petrol and food for anyone wondering...

i think the idea behinsd the 70kph limit is infact to prevent you riding in traffic at 100kph, as for the first 6 months i suppose they consider you to be an absolute novice, which most learners are, especially if they don't have a car licence

and rubber? not much on a 250 but on the bigger bikes those $500 rear tyres don't last long arounds the coro loop

Ya my guess is that i'l be in need of a new back tyre by the time I've completed the loop.

Over the xmas new year period i've managed to do the northland loop (up westcoast to top then down eastcoast) & over to Hahei & back + day trips etc... Oh & did forgotten highway in October.

Ahh the little 250 dat could.

    Bring on the ride.

It probably depends on what tyres you have and how hard you're riding.

If your ripping through the corners on a soft compound tyre, then It'll cost more, obviously, especially on the big V twins.

Or if your trying to back it in! My original tyre only lasted 3 loops!

Well, as far as I know, no big bikes are in our group, but it sounds like we'll be passed at some stage by a group from Tauranga.

Me, Mike and Sam were talking of doin the loop again either the weekend after Paeroa, maybe 2 weekends after Paeroa as it's not a cheap day there!
So if anyone misses out on this one, there'll be another ride in the near future.

Generally costs me $20 in fuel and $20 in lunch and snacks. Oh the joy of owning a small bike!
Forgetting the tyres for a moment, I wonder how much gas a 1000cc is getting through around the loop?
