Front Brake Disk/rotor

Failed my warrant today due to a 'worn' front brake disk on my 1993 ZZR 250.

I'm assuming it will just require a standard brake disk for this particular model?

I have searched yellowpages to try and find a cheap second hand parts dealer (but no luck), I have also looked at new ones and the price has made me nearly faint. ($400!)

Does anyone (helpful) know a good place (around the central/west/north auckland area) where can get a decent/reasonable priced brake disk?

You can't get cheap brake discs. My brake discs were priced at $400 each.

Fast, friendly, reliable and a better selection than any you will find here. I have had parts here in 2 days in the past when I wanted them quickly, though it generally takes about a week.

Have a look on the Kawaski site and match the part number with other models, it might give you more chance of matching it up.
I just ordered a set of PFM cast iron disks for the Beemer from the UK. about half the price of that the robbers at BMW here want for them - $650-800/disk - I think not! The PFM ones were around $280-300 ea with rivets, adn that was bad enough.

there is a guy up north somewhere who does aftermarket discs for all sorts of things.

Good value and real good to deal with. I had his card here but lost it somewhere.

Freddys disc he called himself.

I paid $200 for a new rear disc for my 600 when it all went wrong. with brake pads thrown in for good measure.

Front will be dearer but ya never know till ya ask.

Find out if any other bikes have the same rotors, early GPX250's perhaps? Then search ebay for them, you will probably be able to get a OEM rotor for very cheap
btw, the ZZR250 is known as EX250 H model overseas

going by the EBC cattle dog, the 1997 ZX6R uses the same disc.

The EBC part number is MD4008RS and it sells at about US$200 from www.bikebandit.com

the other option is to get one of ebay. search for a 1997 zx6r disc. it seems these models also use the same disc:

the gpx250 have a different part number and i think it's likely they won't fit.

I just bought a whole new set of EBC front and rear contoured disc's with pads for my ZXR250A. Looks awesome with these contoured disc's. I got em from motorcycle accessory warehouse http://www.mawonline.com/ Cost me $1028.00 all up including shipping and GST in NZ. I priced them up here in NZ but they were closer to 2 Grand. They are brand new and not dodgy old reconditioned ones. If you talked nicely to them you could always get a lower price put on the shipping doc's and save yourself the theiving customs duty tax.
