Anyone keen to volunteer some dirt riding for a vid?

Help -
I'm looking for a good dirt rider who's done or is doing comps to attach some video cams to for an art-video thing. I'm doing and have done lots with road stylz riding but really want to have something from the dirt bike fiends as well.

Looking for someone who's able to ride some of the best jump/courses near auckland (or at least north Island) AND who's willing to have a wee backpack on with the recording cams in it - so kind of riding well enough for a good vid-but feeling comfortable enough and riding within ya limits so the gear in the backpack would be 90% likely to survive

You'd basically have BBC/RAF bullet cams one to the front and one to the rear of the bike feeding signals into wee cams in a backpack. Looking to shoot in the next month or so

You need to ask the question over in the Off Road forum, that's where the motocrossers hang. We're not really into motocross track jumps in this forum.

cheers for that note warewolf- your prolly right the other dirtbike spot might be better but OMG i don't know how to move it! - there may be some room for some trail/adventure riding - but I have to start with dirt... and AIR time do you know how to move the thread or should i pm mods?

One of the guys I work with is entered in the supercross this weekend and is a sponsored rider (so he thinks hes pretty good, lol) he may be keen

Just create a new thread in that forum, don't have to get too tricky! If you are going to do any adventure-type stuff then you can dig up this thread later.

Having cameras looking out the back and front of an adventure bike that is rear wheel steering down a gravel road might make for some neat footage? Kind of like how footage from the front bumper of a WRC is facing the ditch half the time.

...may need a closed road for this though as I'm not sure about the police view on that sort of thing. Careful now.

For a fuller adventure bike experience, maybe a waterproof camera getting dunked in some river crossings, some nice scenery like beaches and snow. Maybe the film can start with the bike pulling away from a pub (or icecream shop) and end with the bike/camera slowly tipping over into a muddy puddle after misjudging a rut. I should sleep.

...and the bike? not to start an argument about adventure bike noises, but anybody got a KTM950 with Akras? Sleep.

ohhh that snow idea mentioned could be rad...
I went out to the moto cross track at ardmore on wed to have a wee look at the scene there... good jumps etc, but mounting cam on rear of bike will be hard because of your giant floppy mud guards! the sub frame is so far back the rear section doesn't have much firm to mount to in terms of getting the camera locked off... it looks like I'd be kind of dealing with a trampoline back there

not sure how this guy did it but it seams to work.
