    Filtering

    Just a small rant

I understand that filtering is quite scary, what with all the trucks ,vans and cars oh my......

But to the guy on th BMW on Hutt motorway this morning.

    1. Keep your feet on the pegs ( helps control bike)
    2. Look in your mirrors ( helps if you can see whats behind you)
    3. If a gap is to small, pull back in to traffic ( not slam the anchors on)
4.dont hold other bikers up( it pisses most of us off)

    Rant over

I had an interesting experience on the northern mway this morning, a car actually moved right over in the lane to give me more room ... he also tooted at they guy in front of him to get him to move over too, first time I've seen that vs people just cutting me off or pulling some kind of sammich manouver

I find pulling over beneficial to let other bikers past me, gives me someone to follow ... if you do go on the northern in the morning, thanks for 'plowing the road'

I found this happens quite a lot for me, probably becouse I filter with my hazards on and a fluro vest.

What a month! Countersteering, fingerless gloves, waving, open-face helmets and now filtering. I'm uncertain, though, as to whether that is a slam or a flush?

    5. If you're not comfortable and confident with lane splitting/filtering - quite simply put, do not do it.

It is preferential to refrain from the utilisation of grandiose verbiage in the circumstance that your intellectualisation can be expressed using comparatively simplistic lexicological entities. (...such as the word fuck.)

Nice to hear a good experience/ postive story for a change about traffic behaviour around us riders. I try to be considerate around bikes when I am in the car myself cause I know what its like to be out there.

I know what it's like to be out there. They're having a marvellous time while I'm stuck in a tin box! That's why I try to knock them off.

I am choosing my words carefully; with Hitcher watching, I'm trying to raise my game

I rode scoot back from Paeroa on the weekend, and was astonished at the timid approach of most bikers. And the lack of courtesy. There is an optimum speed that allows you to filter and get past without being suicidal.

If you have someone come in behind you, let them past, then sit on their wheel. Safety in numbers and all that...

Indecision is wrong on so many levels. If you take a positive movement past a car, they don't get the opportunity to mess with you. Also, indecision also adds delay to throttle roll on, and braking - should I?, can I?, Will I?

Bikes respond to firm, authoritative commands. You are well advised not to try this with your better half, women and bikes are diametrically opposed in their response to this course of action.

Hitcher, how was tht 4 grammer and shit?
It’s diametrically opposed to the sanitised existence of the Lemmings around me in the Dilbert Cartoon hell I live in; it’s life at full volume, perfect colour with high resolution and 10,000 watts of amplification.
