Why not get him to join the army or something. Might do some miracle work, and he gets somewhere to live, eat, shower and learn how to be a good citizen! Huzzah.

If all else fails I'm sure someone up there in Aucks could wheek him in a tent in their backgarden.

    char
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded

In all seriousness, I think it would be a good thing (joining the army or navy for a stint - you can get skilled up also), why not give it a go.

See it as a challange to prove your flatmate and others wrong! Might give you a different perspective on life, you have to have experiences and see things from other peoples points of view - to evolve into the new improved Skidmark of tomorrow.
