To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded
With all due respect Hitcher.....NO FUGGIN WAY...... They got enough problems over there without that....
Mark,
Even if it is something that you have never entertained before. Consider the Army or one of the armed forces.
I knew several people who had problems, joined the army and it was the makings of most of them, not for a couple but you won't know until you try.
The biggest way you could ever gain respect, not only from others but from yourself, is to do something to help yourself. Make the committment whatever it turns out to be and stick to it, no matter what. If things "Kick" you down, find an alternative. You cannot rely on others to help, bail out, or even suggest things for you for the rest of your life...
All the best with whatever you decide to do.
Andrew

Who wants to make a bet that he's moving back to his parents in 5 days?
I wonder whether the difference between Auckland and the rest of NZ is that the rest of NZ looks after its own in times of trouble.
Some things are worth dying for, living is one of them.

If you had a job Marky I would consider helping you out for a few weeks whilst you sorted things out, but you would have to toe the line serious time...and I am bigger that you...
No mess
Shower
Quite when I have Nats
to name but a few...
Check you PM's Mark.
To the rest of y'all. I know Mark has pissed a lot of you off, but clearly he has not learnt to master his weaknesses, and indeed he may not be ready yet to do so. I fee that this is something private for him,and ridicule and taking the piss, while fun, is really not going to help the guy become a productive member of society.
So it is with other people in similar situations. Perhaps those of us in positions to provide guidance and input could find someone struggling and provide them with some mentoring?
Nail your colours to the mast that all may look upon them and know who you are.
It takes a big man to cry...and an even bigger man to laugh at that man.
PS - for the record I think the army idea is fantastic. Plus one can be trained in a trade.

People have put in so much time energy and effort to help out Mark, when has he ever stepped up to the plate?
Why or why not? Answer Brett?
And on the other hand, you can see why people have given up though. The boy who cried wolf eventually made the towns people give up...Mark needs to WANT to help himself. But yeah...giving the guy shit hardly leads to motivation. (personally it would make me want to prove them all wrong, but not all people are geared the same).
