I went overseas when my grandmother was unwell. She died when i was over there, but she was happy I went because she knew it was what was best for me.

Ask your gran if she'd rather have you living like a bum in auckland or doing something constructive and positive in tauranga.

If shes remotely human she'll want you to go. If you care so much about her then you owe it to her to go, if you don't care then stop using her as an excuse.

I am seriously genuinely willing to put money down the line, on the kid if I know the he will achieve results.

But not my time, enegry and effort.

Well mark if your grandmother is dying, why not live with her and look after her? Problem solved mate.

    mm lets see..my dad had

a quadruple bypass then found out he had terminal cancer, was too far gone for chemo so the hospital sent him home to die, hernia, and a 1kg tumour removed...

Him being a determined old man and a so called witch doctor, pulled through the bloody lot and cured himself, latest MRI scan showed everything was normal, so hes making the most of life and building this house...

and while that was all going on Mark, I lived in Akl....Ive turned my back on you now....You visited here yesterday and the door was open you knew it always was...you had the chance last year to become my flatmate and you turned it down...I am helping you find work and you made the excuse about your ankle, well hello my shoulder is ruined (again) and my lower back because of all the lifting involved, but I keep plodding along...I may be a nobody, but at least I can hold my head high and say "I gave it a go" Im looking for another job more suited to me physicially,

shit happens....everyone has their own problems to sort. And everyone on KB knows that I have been there for you....and helped where I can, gave you a bed for a couple of nights last time when you had no where to go.

I've given up Mark, this idea I had was the best I could think of, give you another chance to learn new skills, and be in a felixible role, where you could just develop yurself as a person with out people yelling at you or putting you down...my parents understand because my brother is a lazy ass and wont help them...I need to focus on me and not you and your pathetic excuses anymore.
My bass is such a slapper.......I cant stop fingering those strings

Mark, the world does not owe you a living, even the birds and bees have to work.

Natural progression is weaning offspring to fend for themselves, how you do it is entirely up to you now.

Personally, I do not think you are dumb, I think you haven't learned how to get off the pillion seat of life.

Move on up into the rider's seat are and start taking control of your life.

You won't get it right every time but you will get the results you deserve and earn!

    Whatever. Good luck! John.

Blah Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life.

Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life.
Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life.
Some things in life are bad,
They can really make you mad,
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you're chewing on life's gristle,
    Don't grumble, give a whistle,
This'll help things turn out for the best.
Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life.
Always look on the right side of life.
    If life seems jolly-rotten,
    There's something you've forgotten,
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing!
When you're feeling in the dumps,
    Don't be silly, chumps,
Just purse your lips and whistle,
    That's the thing!
So, always look on the bright side of death,
Just before you draw your terminal breath,
    Life's a load of shit,
    when you look at it,
    Life's a laugh, and death's the joke,
    It's true!
You see, it's all a show,
Keep them laughing as you go,
Just remember the last laugh is on you!

i reckon we should foward all these skidmark threads to Campbell Live, he will become famous for nothing (like the Ingham twins, and that kid in aussie who threw that big party while mum and dad were away). hes bound to make some money from interviews with Womens day etc.

The sequel could be "Meet the parents."

Actually, lets get them on KB. Look out Jerry Springer!

I wonder if anyone else if feeling like this too...

If even Kitty has given up, I think that should say something. Oh but that's right...Mark doesn't actually care about what people think of him.

Good luck to you Mark, whatever you decide to do...but you're on your own this time.

id say its a good thing his parents are turning away. he needs to learn to stand on his own two feet and actually understand what real life is like. its not always easy, sometimes its damn near impossible, but slog your way through and you will get the rewards for it.

tough love is exactly what he needs... there can be a case of too much support from his parents, so they are doing the right thing... more parents need to take a stand and do it. i think, however, they should have done this a long time ago.

kitty made a generous offer, and if i was in need of work and board, i would have taken it in a heartbeat.

mark... sucks that your grandmother is dying, but get this: millions of people die every single day, and the world keeps on spinning. the world does not stop for a death, and so it shouldnt. one of the account holders at my work was 2 weeks late paying her account. her excuse? her dad died. ok, thats fine, but my boss is neither a mind reader nor a bank. the late payer runs a business herself, and im certain she wouldnt accept death as a suitable excuse for late payment. [specially when she had the cheque in a car for the whole two weeks, just didnt bother stopping for 5 seconds to hand it out the window]

ive had 5 people die since 2004. 2 of them, i couldnt attend the funerals for. 1 died a week after i returned to nz, and the last time i saw her was 6 months prior. another died the same time as a big gang battle, so we had customers telling us how they figured he died [o, he got shot by gang members, eh?] the day of that young mans funeral [he was 19], i went straight from the funeral home to work... life doesnt stop, even on the day your loved one is being buried.

it will be interesting to see who rescues him this time, cos im pretty sure most on here have given up... as said, if kittys had enough, that speaks volumes. leave him to learn what life really is: hard, but worth it.

Go sleep under a bridge knob cheese.
Get fucked up the arse, filled with smack and give blow jobs for 50cents to old wino's.
Then, and only then will you wake up to the fact that you and only you can sort out your world.
Or take up the offers of a roof of your head, and a structured day that has been put forward for you by people with much more tolerance and caring than 99% of humans on this planet.

    Take the Farmstay Offer.
