Please please please, check out the insurance issue before touching anything on the bike.

No-one is suggesting there's any dishonest motives here. What you guys want to do is wonderful. But make sure you're doing the right thing, eh?
Its safe to say Sean wouldn't get any insurance pay out even if he did have any. So give drew money!!! his beer fridge is empty and thats a big no no for working on motorbikes.

    All good and understood.

I'm happy to chip in... and should we hit some silly number... there's either a bum photo for the arses thread or yet another head shaving session...

c'mon c'mon.... dare me. It has to be good though... I'm not talking $500 here, more like 5 grand...
$2,000 cash if you find a buyer for my house, kumeuhouseforsale@straightshooters.co.nz for details

This is a TOP idea. I shall happily contribute to the "not for Sean's bike, no no, not at all, must be for kids in Africa" fund and trust Drew/Flame/Lissa to drive where the money goes in the most sensible fashion. Full marks, bling on it's way.

I know all about the insurance status of the bike, and I'm still doing this, take from that whatever you need to get on board people.

    Ok so whats damaged/needs repairing?
How about ya make it like one of those sponsorship deals.
Break it down into individual components and give the component sponsor naming rights.
Put me down for a mirror (for example)--I get my name felt pen on the underside

Right he has agreed... when we hit $5K, it will be arms, legs, chest, bum and groin!

One condition, that its done by a professional waxer, which is fair!

I'm just clarifying (for my own purposes at least) what exactly we're being asked to contribute towards. I don't mind helping other KB members. I've done so before, and will do so again.

But if Sean's bike is insured, then surely its repair and restoration should be best pursued by that channel? If there are other things Sean needs help with as a consequence of his accident, then fine, people can help out as they choose. If people are making a contribution and it's not going to be used to fix Sean's bike, even if the request for assistance is well intentioned, isn't that just a bit dishonest?
    I agree with you H

The old, "Back, sack, and crack" eh. No worries.

I do think however, helpin Sean is better motivation for folk than seein pictures of me fur-less.

Thanks heaps to all those who have PMed me to help out, it really means the world to us, and I'm sure will to Sean aswell.
