They do seem to have wildly optimistic speedos though.

145 gps km/h on cbf250 with 14 tooth front sprocket. Thats about all you'll get with 21hp.

I've had my ZXR 250C up to 175km/h before i ran out of room and it was still pulling steadily. Ive got the 1992 model which i think is the year before they restricted them to 39hp? would probably top round 185-190

My mighty 83 GSX250EZ topped out at (on speedo) 160km/h,wouldn't go any faster. This was lightly modded, with ported head, rejetted carbs and K&N pods. Before that, would only do around 145-150km/h.
Damn I hated that bike, big & heavy, but looked good with the Katana lines to it.

I doubt you'll be going any faster than 180...if that.
At 170ish, my bike is indicating at least 180. And mine is a full alloy framed, 1988 high performance v-twin. Your bike will be heavier than that, with considerably less power due to 250cc restrictions from 1994 or so. So 180k indicated is most likely not even close to 180.

well had my mate in a v5 Sti who was topping out on his speedcut 190kmph and is running a rsm which is very acurate next to me so i dont no, and my bike is 43hp at the crank so what that about 37-8hp at the wheel? ( the older model 1996-97's are 40hp.) and 23nm tourque and 151kg dry weight,

My GN has a max of 120km/hr. Passing CAN get slightly embarrassing...

    I've seen 165 on my naked Gt250
The speedo (analog) is out at the lower speeds, but seems to be correct once you get up to 110ish.

My 50cc scooter has a speedo that goes up to 90, I've had it past that on a slight downhill

i guess you *could* ride one of these on a L-Plate due to the whole piston wording in the 250cc limit (or have they changed that now?)
