    Info on Triumph models

met a guy the other day who said he rides a 01 triumph daytona ST RS 955

I thought the ST RS and 955 were 3 different bikes,

anyone got any info handy on the triumph models?

Äre triumph using the Daytona name like kwaka use the ninja name?

    Sprint ST

    Sprint RS

    Daytona 955i

    Are the correct designations.

Triumph have phased out the 955's now. The Sprint ST, Tiger and Speed Triple are all 1050 fuel injected. The Daytona name is now solely for the 675cc model. All the Bonnevilles, America's, Speedmasters, Thruxtons and also the Scrambler have a 865cc engine. Then of course there is the naked 675 Daytona named the Streetfighter and also the 2.3litre monolithic Rocket III. The hot rumour is they will be releasing a 1500cc cruiser late this Year which would not be a stupid idea.

well yes they are three different bikes. All three are 955 liquid cooled, fuel injected 3 cylinders , but they are basically the same bike with only slight differences between them the ST and daytona have full fairing and single sided swing arm where as the RS has half fairing and double sided swing arm. The RS and RT have larger fuel tank than the daytona. hope this helps

Was down at AMPS today. The triumph range certainly has something quite different about it compared with the usual Jap bikes.

They do seem expensive for what you are getting.

I can't however seem to manage to talk myself out of a new ABS Tiger.

    Will keep trying :-)

Does make you wonder when/if they're going to make a 1050 Daytona...
