Good place to buy a muffler overseas?

Anyone got any recommendations for buying an aftermarket can from overseas?
    Good fast service etc etc.
Do you get stung for taxes when it arrives here?

    Cheers

You could consider going local. Harris Pipes here in Canterbury does custom mufflers. I can try and dig out an email address if you would like.
I don't know what triumphs you've got, but I know they have a design for a race exhaust for the 675...

As for taxes, I've bought some stuff from overseas on several occassions and haven't had any trouble.

Tried a few places in NZ and local for a muffler and no luck so seemed the next best think try the net overseas.
Can't get Neptune muffler's site up, is the place defunct now?

Not as if its for anything extraordinary, just a Triumph TT600, which I'm told is exactly the same muffler as a ZX6R 98-03, a simple 3 bolt flange.
Think even an early Bandit is the same too according to the internet Triumph site I read.

If someone can point me NZ, sure I'd buy here.

starcycle is your friend, otherwise ebay.

The pipes are that cheap that even when charged $75USD for express postage, and then hit with import tax at the NZ border that it was still nearly 50% cheaper than the best price for the same exhaust in NZ.

Just tell them to put it down as being worth $100USD or something, i think they start charging GST or whatever at $400.

I thought motorbike parts were exempt from tax?
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

well i got charged customs when I ordered The Stranger's Yoshimura TRC for the Fazer. Either way, it was like $50, and the exhaust was still a bargain.

    Exempt from duty, not GST.

I have paid GST and clearing charges on parts $400 and above, but have got away with parts up to $1000. Just the luck of the draw.

Dooly, in rebuilding my Speed Four after my off I got a muffler from phoenix custom which I am very happy with. Straight bolt on and sounds good. Quite a stubby little muffler and probably not to everybody's taste but I like it and the price was very good.
Since I don't use the pillion pegs I took them off and made a custom bracket. Happy to make one if you wanted one (just folded 5mm ali).

Only problem is, if it gets lost, damaged etc, all you are covered for is the declared value. If shipper puts $100 value, that is all you can claim.

Zorsts is the Harris pipe supplier & he's based at the roadworkers camp up in the Lewis Pass, used to be Saxon St Exhausts In ChCh but hasn't been there for years

Hey Dooly,I have had some good dealings with
    www.indysuperbikes.com
Have scroll, through,I had to phone them with details,as NZ was not a shipping destination on the website, but was cheap & arrived quickly
