Some things are worth dying for, living is one of them.
comeon guys this doesn't need to be a bitch fight.
To see a life newly created. To watch it grow and prosper. Isn't that the greatest gift a human being can be given?
*pauses to wipe mud off my face*
I'm suprised I made it to here after wading through all that gunk.
Has any1 started the Ixion bashing thread yet (just in case I start feeling too clean and need muddying up again).
My 2c:
I can understand FatJim's sentiment. Nothing ruder or more inconsiderate of others than to start running one smouth off and slanging those who have died in a thread that was meant to help the living who knew and cared about the dead person/ppl. Very bad taste.
IMHO:
RIP threads should be just that. A thread for saying farewell and/or passing on condolences to those you know who are affected by the the death. Personally, unless I know the departed or someone close to them I don't go to those threads. It's like being one of those (little, old) ladies who show up at their church for all the funeral services whether they know the deceased or not, just to show face. Just isn't right to me.
May be some rules for those threads should be made, such as:
Something along those lines.....
- A designated forum for the (dearly) departed
- No profanity (except for lines like "cya, ya old bastard" kind of thing)
- RIP and condolence wishes only
- No blame-laying be it of ppl, gear or environment. make a new thread if you want to discuss that.
'Kinda' agree. 'Kinda' only because it looks to me like common sense. Such rules should not be needed at th first place.
If you want to discuss the cause of an accident, don't do it in the RIP thread (which is often read by the family of the deceased), and please wait a bit before doing so, at least until the grief has faded and more facts are known.
Got to say this, with repect for those who have grown up.
There are a heap of KB'erswho are not yet Adults, still in that "Im superman "
age group, who will not see reason, not see past their own agender, or who will stir trouble to get attention.
I think it gets forgotten that there are members of this site who are 15 - 19 years old and are still learning how to act in public,on forums, on the road plus how to see the difference between dry humor and abuse.
In my observations, this place is very fast to put labels on any person who posts coments outside of the intent of the discussion,
There will always be Dick Heads on threads, or those who are percieved to be Dick Heads because of their posts, myself included.
Could it be that we dont read entire threads before answering a post that catches our attention?
The biggest Wanker on KB, could just be your 1st Aid rider if you have a spill.
One of the sad things is these threads sometimes say things we wish we didn't,never to be removed, often quoted, never forgiven.
One of the "biggest wankers" of recent times has toned down his posts and become a usefull member, because he has matured.
As an older fellow, I guess I have to allow for the "ignorance of youth" when reading these pages.
Grow the fuck up and learn?? some of us are on that road now, learning not only how to ride a bike, but also how to deal with others whom have experiance and self control far beyond that which we have already learnt to date.
Young fellows? they will grow up in time,
Lets allow them to do so without labels, abuse, flaming and a "get the fuck out of my face" attitude that sometimes appears.
Cheers guys
I hope you all enjoy your rides this weekend
I know I will
To be old and wise, first you must be young and stupid.
Thats all well and said, but how do you explain the 50 something year old spouting off, when he should more than likely "know better".
In my book thats worse than the immature teenager.
He wasn't there on Sunday, he wasn't party to the mood down pitlane 30mins after the tragedy, he didn't have one of his riders come into the pits all ghost like and beside himself not knowing what to do, all because of what he had seen. He then did not see and talk too a young lady, who was clearly not coping very well with what she had just witnessed. Its a complete shit feeling seeing some of your friends in that kind of pain, and you can't do a damn fucking thing to help them other than being there. And to then read some of the complete shit typed in some of the threads . . .
Its a real shame some of these (real wankers) people weren't actually there, it would've have been a pleasure to educate them had they chosen to say what they have typed but I guess we'll never know.
After this horrid weekend is a far distant memory, the real disappointment is these real wankers will still be here, learning nought, spouting forth complete dribble while these families and friends still mourn the loss of a son and father.
It is what it is
