Could have when it came time to move this on

time & place meant it had to go

after having ridden plenty of other bikes, most a lot more powerful & faster, that old animal is by far the most potent to 180kmh and the sound was in a league of it's own

Wow, reading all this has only confirmed my thinking ... I'm keeping all my bikes!

I don't want to have any regrets ... so what I collect, I keep!

Biggest piece of kak. Hmm... Kawasaki GPX750. Straight line missile, $hit brakes and $hit handling. Total disappointment after the lovely GPX600 I'd had for 3 years. Only good on the motorway..or it was until the 2nd week I owned it when I killed it after racing a VW Corrado down a dual carrageway for about 100K's at pretty bonkers speeds. Warped head and 3 cracked cylinder head bolts. "you want HOW MUCH Mr Kawasak?"

One that got away. 1998 Yamaha TDM850. Should have shipped it out here with me. Wonderfully under-rated bike.

2001 KR150. It was the cyclone race replica model so it looked pretty mint too (until I gotmy hands on it). Was a fucken cool little bike and crashed really well too.....
After I sold it the guy who bought it of me had it stolen 2 weeks later. It'd done 45000 k's with no rebuilds whatsoever when I sold it so I really hope that it blew up on the bastards who stole it!

my Suzuki Street Magic, it was the fastest thing from one side of town to the other, footpaths and walkways were no obstacle. DMNTD had one also, and there used to be fits of laughter as two twats, in full leathers and tinted visors, used to go into town on a friday night, and give the 'boyracers' the learn.

    Norton 750 JPS

Had a nasty wobble at around 90mph

Never would have sold it if I had realised that all it needed was new headset bearings :(

Laverda Jota. Bought new in 1976. Rode it for 6 years; loads of fun and not a spot of trouble. Sold it to buy a GSX1100. Still kicking myself.

Now that is a sad tale, even I regret that sale.

I was going to say "all of them", but rethinking that, I realised now that it would have to be none of them: they were all Hondas, therefore all ghey, and mostly started off in pretty good nick, and were muntered when I bought the next bike (especially the two that I wrote off). The exceptions would be the XBR500RS, which was a Pile-o-Poop when I 'inherited' it, and much more betterer when I sold it, and the VTR1000, which was in better condition when I traded it in.
I think I would've liked to have kept that, as a fun bike, for doing track days and the like. Despite the fact VTRs are urglee, underpowered and badly suspended, I had some fun on the thing. Popping a massive unintentional wheelie riding it home the night I bought it was evidence of that.

Alas, I'm "not allowed" more than one bike. The few weeks I did have two (VF500 and VFR750) were so much fun ("Hmmm...which bike shall I ride today?") but got me in so much trouble.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....
