    Go to this site

    http://www.umgweb.com/

and click on the Used M/C Guide link. It gives data including fuel consumption on a variety of different bikes (mostly oldish). The fuel consumption figures are in miles per Imperial gallon unfortunately, but they look about right for all the bikes I've owned.

    Thanks Breakaway!!

65MPG = 27.634 km / Litre. That means for my 12 litre tank I can get 331km. Never had that, I usually fill again at ~260km for about 11 litres. Another litre @ 27km is 287 +/-. 331km WTF??? Doesn't add up.

my result would be 23/L , 4.5litres to the gallon 1.6Km to a Mile so if you get 65mpg then 23.11km/L.... I think :-() assuming we are talking UK gallens not USA gallens..

I did 40 kms / ltr, riding in city traffic. Real good fuel economy, but the small tank (3.5ltr?) made me fill up every couple of days though...

    750 Honda Shadow 25 k's per liter
    250 Suzuki Intruder 32 k's per liter.

    Kawasaki Versys

$90 of 96 does 800ks on the ZX14 (both mine or DMNTDs riding). So is a 23ltr tank that does easily 300ks with still some in reserve (not keen to run it dry just for the sake of the exercise of knowing exact milage).
Not sure what the $s per Km is, but pretty happy with it.
SV would do Tauranga to Dairy Flats, about 280ks, but I cant remember what size tank that is (about 18-20ltrs?) and that was just only hitting reserve so still had some juice in the tank.
Guess it all depends on how hard one twists the thottle, and if commuting etc, luggage, weight of rider and luggage, pillion? etc.

Perfection is not something you should ever attain, but something to always strive for. For if we actually achieve our idea of perfection, is it then any longer perfect?

VTR1000F, tour of South Island averaging 14.7km/litre. Much less around town or if you boot it! Got up to 17km/litre on one trip Oamaru to Twizel.
