    update # 23462846823468264826 !!!!

I've been doing a bit on mounting the rear disc properly and getting it squarely onto the hub.
Also, painted the rims and rear tail-piece. Black looks far better IMO.
The "RGV" ghey pink and yellow stickers have been removed.

now,...what is the you say? you see an underslung caliper?
Yup, Mr Sully 60 sold me an RG50 one which I'm utlilising as a rear brake caliper. Have to find a rear master cylinder and hose to hook up to the pedal also.
I also procured a front brake master cylinder/brake lever which will work fine as I'm also in the process of obtaining a 2-pot front caliper at present.

This week, the bucket will be getting some proper wheel spacers machined up and the a rear brake hanger made as well as a front one (providing the deal goes well !!).

No news on the Loncin engine as of yet, will chase the importer for an update this week.

    Further update -

Been working on a front caliper mount for the bucket tonight.
Borrowed my DR250 complete front brake unit (as I've purchased a DR350 one) and taped the lever into the bar so I could hold the caliper in the correct place on the disc.

Drilled the 8mm caliper holes on the fork legs to 9mm and tapped them to 10mm thread so I can screw in 10mm bolts to hold it in place.
I'm going to machine out the excess alloy material and then weld a couple of layers of 5mm plate until I get the right thickness top the caliper mount.
This should prove strong enough, ...well, one way of finding out !!

PS: - Do you want me to keep posting updates of my work in progress, or would you rather just see the finished machine at the circuit?

    Well,
I got around my front brake problem.

I got a 4 pot TZR caliper from Sully60 in the end.
Then I swapped the forks around and made it into a RHS disc as the TZR caliper is a RHS one. The benefit of this is that now both the wheels go the same way but now I have the mudguard mounting bracket on the RHS fork on the outside. Not a prob though as I can make a couple of C-brackets to mount it.
Soooo,..next I fabricated a caliper mount for the fork. This took quite some time getting all of the holes aligned and everything in position.
I also had to machine out the bottom of the forks where the axle goes through to ensure the axle could still get the nut.

I also made a rear brake torque-arm and mounting bracket for the rear master cylinder.

Last week I got the rear brake pedal extended a little so it could be converted into the hydraulic kind and also made and got welded a rear caliper bracket.

The engine has finally arrived in Auckland and all going well, should have it some time this week.
The next thing will be making an exhaust for it and the big paint-job/tidy up begins.

However,...time is rapidly running out !!

    Bloody good work that man!
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

    That looks good Nudez.

I was going to give you shit about the front tyre being on the wrong way.
The joke would've been on me considering we spoke about turning the wheel around the other way

I like the rear set up very light'n'tasty!

    Hey Sully,

    Thanks for the comments.

Yup, I'm going to get the tyre put back on the right way, hadn't forgotten that. I know you would have given me a hard time otherwise ...

I've also decided to make some footpeg hangers to put them higher and more rearward as they look like they're too low.

Also thanks Riffer, Storm and Jim2 for your comments.

    Cheers,
    NDMz

    Update for Sunday 16/3:-

    - Front guard has a new bracket for mounting it as the RHS forkleg mount is on the outside to accommodate the RHS caliper mount.

    - Back brake is now bled & functional

    - Front brake is getting a part for it tomorrow and should be bled and functional tomorrow night.

    - GL145 exhaust arrives tomorrow so the header and part of it can be transformed into a performance exhaust.

    - Loncin Engine arrives Wednesday/Thursday....YIPPEE !!!

    - Paint work is stripped off tank and Nasty/Grub are repairing the minor dents.

    - Fairing/tailpiece/front guard has been sanded and first coat of new paint work has been applied.

So, all in all, work is progressing steadily and having it ready for the 30th is looking promising.
