    Americans invited to the ATNR?

My wife and I touch down April 3 Thursday morning from Kansas City (a.k.a middle of nowhere U.S.A.)
Thought maybe we could hook up with your group after your ride back to Bar Africa (?)
We will have a rented cage or taxi, probably the latter so we can toss back a few beers. We pick up a bike in Nelson on April 10th to cruise the south island. So if you are up to hanging out with american bikers that ride japanese bikes and eat mexican food and drink canadian whiskey.. we'd enjoy making some new Kiwi friends!
If it is cool, I'll need some sort of directions to the pub.

    Thanks!

Welcome to stateside. LA is not the states, it's more like Mars. Freaks and aliens everywhere... no kidding! To bad you don't have time to tour the states on a bike... great people every where.

Sorry, but there isn't any such thing as TOO much cheese.
We put cheese on top of our cheese and then add a sprinkle or two of Parmesan cheese. CheezWhiz... heaven in a can!

You are very welcome to attend the ride; Whangarei is about 200km North of Auckland,
Just put a post up on this thread when you head up this way and we can give directions etc,
    Ride safe.

Or you could come south east to Tauranga (see our thread) and enjoy the eastern hospitality. You'll fit right in if you ride Japper bikes (hell any bike will do), drink anything (canadian whiskey, mmmmmmmm), and we could introduce you to good old Kiwi food.
Gotta, say, the Northland crew are a great bunch too. Either way Im sure you will enjoy your time in this country, especially if you get to meet some of us

Well a sad day has finally come for "Roxanne" I going ta have to retire her. The Alternator/Starter chain is now slipping and she has a whine down there too (which could be a bearing on the way out). Sad day indeed. Will park her up and put her on TradeMe as parts
So no Thursday Night Rides for me until I can replace her.

She gave you a pretty good innings Doug. So, moving forward what are you eyeing up to replace her with? Very interested to hear your thoughts about what you want to move on to.

    back in ridgecrest

chaina lake naval weapons base is near by, and got to love those jest buzzing over, wish i had my bike i could do the hole top gun scene. yeeehaaaaaa.

i can hear the music now. dam its hot, and i hear it gets hotter.

popped into a few bikes stores, and the emisson controlls over here are hard, and retard the bikes in a big way. lack of two strokes if any. due to heat a cooling systems are a must.
but as this place is surrounded by desert you can ride anywhere, and i mean anywhere. literally. no famrs for miles or fences.
just a warning to stay away from the naval base is a good idea.

straight roads are amazing here. drove yes drove (what a head screw) for over 20miles in a straight line. wish i had a tripped out bus or a 14.

also trying really really hard to keep the nz accent.

but im missing my bike, almost wanted to beat up a kid for their push bike.

i cant download my pictures anywhere. hey i think i might just live here for a bit, i wanna join the california highway patrol (CHiPs) yeahhhh

    ill be back
