After Easter I'll sing out for booze orders (tues preferably).
List the sleep arrangements, and PM ph # and physical address/area of batch.
Will see most if not all of you at Raglan between 12.30-1.00. Sat
So have a wee think about anything that might be required at the bach for you, (keep it non sexual thanks), and we will be laughing.
Sunday morning has 2-3 route options on the table that we can nut out over drinks, but expect the jug/radio on at about 7-7.30 to get rolling by 9.00.
Have a safe Easter.![]()
Triboy , do you have room for 1 x young fella on a klx 250 from Dorkland
I would ride with him on Sat but I wont stay the night ,got to ride with her indoors on Sunday running in her new bike.
My tent is a 2 man so I can fit an extra body in with me if you get stuck for room. (no snoring or spewing in my tent)
Tuakau Bridge,on the west side....or I might be at the toilets on the other side if my morning coffee is having a fast exit.Give me an eta at the bridge, but don't wait for me if I'm not there - leave some skid marks in the gravel so I know some bikes have been there recently.
Motu, once we have sorted this out (probably in about 3 weeks) I'll PM you a time. At the moment I'm hoping for 0800 at Bass' in Papkaura, 0830 on the road, so 0900 Tuakau and about 1300 at Raglan.
Christ knows what will actually happen, I keep getting the feeling with these numbers It'll be like herding cats......should be fun then!
Young fella & I will be at service centre on sth mway just south of Papakura/Karaka turnoff ready to go at 8.30 if that suits
Righto people - sorry for the absence. Have been away on the bike for most of Easter. Spent Friday/Saturday at Bayleys Beach learning about sand riding and buggering my back trying to pick up a fully laden DR in deep sand.
Anyway, it appears that the rendezvous is my place at 8.00 am if Crisis gets his way. I can live with that and it actually makes sense if the pace is to be relaxed.
I will PM my address and phone to those from Ork who have indicated interest but if I miss you out, please get in touch so I can correct that.
I may not be as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I always was.
I went through Klondike and down the coast for a few k yesterday. The road from Port Waikato to where the seal starts again at Waikaretu is a bit rough and well corrugated.
I was thinking of all in together as far as the Tuakau bridge and then maybe pointing Xerxes down 22, right at Glen Murray by the transmission mast for his first gravel at Pukerewa road. It is reasonably smooth and well swept from there, whereas I think he would be uncomfortable with the Port Waikato end.
Also, if time might be an issue, the route that I took you through last trip, from Onewhereo to Waikaretu is actually quite a bit quicker than Klondike. However, I guess we could always go the direct route through Te Akau, rather than right down to the harbour, if we find we are running late by then.
I may not be as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I always was.
Booze orders please.PM order's.
Sleeping arrangements are sorted.
Meals sorted.
Arrival snacks, Three course meal. (breads, 2-3 hot dishes, salads etc, sweets),
Hot brekky, or cereals/fruit.
I'm taking the extra mattresses, booze, food supplies out on Thrs.
Most should of received a PM with contact details if you have Q's.
Bass/Crisis have the tiller at the Auck end, I've got the Waikato end, and Clint/Zukin/offrd have the eastern side.
Auck and Waikato to meet at the Raglan pub 12.30-1.00pm Sat.
Clint will let me know his plans.
Expect some light showers Sun, (but not looking too shabby).
Stand at ease,
Fall out.
So, what circuitous route are we taking from Raglan to Kawhia, we must have 2 or 3 hours to fill in? Wonder what the state of the tide is?
